My boyfriend just moved to Milhaven,but he told me that it's only reception,til they find another place for him. He also told me that I won't be hearing from him for awhile as he'll be in lockdown for about 2wks. I was wondering if that was true? Is that normal?

I am not sure whether you are referring to the fact that he alone will be in 'lockdown' of if the whole prison is in 'lockdown' ??

If the whole prison is in lockdown then it will be because something happened... he may not be able to call but he should still be able to write and receive letters...

If he is in reception and waiting to be transferred, it could be that you won't hear from him until they determine where he is going.
In Alberta, its usually about two weeks or less. Gives them time to get him situated and for the prison to check his phone numbers. He has to give them numbers he will call and then they check the numbers and then approve them.
You could call Millhaven and ask if the whole prison is locked down. Usually they will tell you. If not, try doing a search in the local newspaper.

How do I get a phone number for Milhaven? also an address...I just want to be sure I have the right address. I've mailed him 3 letters,but not one back yet. I would like to know if he's getting my letters at least.

I did check out the link for Millhaven. It didn't list a phone number or addy. Just historical info. about it. So I called 411 and asked for Millhaven in Bath On. The operator came back and said they had 3 listings. One was Millhaven Resort Inn, Millhaven Grocers and Millhaven Travel Vacations.

I had to chuckle...I'm sure my man would love to be at anyone of those places,compared to where he is now.

I called and I had the address confirmed,and was reassured that any mail that I'm sending,will get to him,whether he is in lockdown or not,or if he is or isn't there. They couldn't tell me if he was there or not. But if he isn't then his mail will catch up with him. That was comforting! But still I'd like to know if he is getting my letters alright and if he is alright himself.
