Does anyone here know of any camp grounds fairly close to DVI? It doesn't need to be next door but close enough for visiting? It would be good if they had something for kids to do there, too.

There used to be a really good one close by, but there are now houses there! *LOL*

Ummm.... There are quite a few close by because the Delta is not that far. It all depends on how far you want to travel :)

One thing about camping on the delta, though, be sure and have some good Mosquito repelant. They are pretty fierce. When do you think you might head this way?

That place looks great! It's actually for my daughter in law. She's thinking about bringing my grandaughters to see their dad, it's been two years since they've seen each other. She's thinking about trying for a visit at the end of September but she's almost 400 miles away. She thought maybe she could combine a visit with a camping trip. It's so expensive to fly, rent a car and get a motel. And so expensive to rent a car, drive and pay gas for 1000 miles, and get a motel. Plus food. Maybe it's just wishful thinking.

Actually it's a great idea. I camp when I go, cause it seems like motels, etc are just too darn expensive. There is a KOA not too far away. It's a little more expensive then some of the others, but they have more things for kids, too. They also have those Kamping cabins, but some of them are almost as bad as a motel room. I'll send links to the KOA and another one on the River in a pm. I belong to AAA, so I can get the newest guide and look there. I think there is a state one nearby.
