AGH!!!

My baby has been approved to come home but due to phone problems down there - he cannot call home. I hate prison phones! I called yesterday and they said that they do not know when they will be fixed....he is at Childersburg.

yep....phones go down pretty regular and sometimes it takes days to fix...I hate when that happens too...

ADOC is changing phone carriers and are in the process of changing over. Be patient.

Yeah, my fella called this past Sunday night...it was through the new phone service! FYI...IT ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!!! It costs a bit more than with the other one. But, the main thing is the QUALITY IS HORRIBLE!!! Which, that may be the phones b/c he did say they put new phones in the dorms. Either way...it was pathetic!! We were both practically yelling into the phone & still could BARELY hear one another. It wasn't from the background noise in the dorm...it was just the crappy phone/connection!! Also, with the other system it would tell you at 60 & 15 second before it cut off. Now, it tells you at 60 and that's it...then it cuts off after that minute is up. Maybe some others will have a different opinion. But, as for me...I HATE IT!!!:angry:

Pepper24, Who is the new system thru? I talked to my hubby last night and at Bullock the recording still says correctional billing services...Me and my hubby were talking about the new service and he was telling me that it would cost more per call, which i think is pretty crappy we already pay enough for a 15 min phone call and its already hard enough to hear with all the background noise....

I didn't catch the name when it came on. It threw me off from the get go. Normally, when he calls it shows unknown name BUT, it has a 334-# showing. Now, it shows unknown with a 1-800#. I almost didn't even answer the phone...but, I did...THANK GOODNESS! I had a VERY DIFFICULT time hearing the recording. I'm still not 100% on how much the calls are costing b/c I couldn't understand the guy's voice. As far as per minute...I couldn't understand if it was saying 13 or 30 cents. I know before on Sunday nights it was only 9 cents. So, either way...it's a cost increase. I'll try to catch the provider's name when he calls this Sunday. Like I said...the quality of the call COMPLETELY SUCKED!! And, like you said...there is already enough background noise...we don't need anything else contributing to make it worse!!
