Hi Everybody!!

First of all, this is such a great site for those in need of advice such as myself. I have to say that this is one of the hardest and most heartbreaking experiences for me to have my baby taken away from me like this. He is currently still in reception in Lancaster prison and has been since March 21st. He still hasn't seen his Councelor yet, but has been told his release date is September 13th. How would he know this if he hasn't seen a Councelor yet? Also, Lancaster has been on Lockdown and the inmates have not been able to go to the store. My baby is freaking out because he is running out of pencils to use and I don't know when he can get to a store next. Unfortunately, this is our only way of communication at this difficult time and I just don't know what to do. I feel helpless. Nobody at the prison will help me and I am not allowed to send him any pencils. Does anybody PLEASE have some advice for me? I really worried for him. He said he will be sick if he can't write to me, he is desperate.

first off welcome. You will find a lot of support here at PTO! My hubby is in lancaster as well. they are on lockdown because they are turning Lancaster into a reception only facility. He will get store soon and if he doesn't have him trade for a pencil. send him some stamps and he can trade those for a few writting matterials. You can also send him books. I send my Hubby tons and tons of books and he trades them with the other inmates once he is done. What yard is your loved one in? Mine is in D yard. The way he was able to get his release date is because they have his paperwork they just have not seen him yet. (too many inmates not enough counselors). My hubby has asks twice for a release date and still has not gotten one yet. hope this helps!

I agree with luvdrew if you can send some stamps or embossed envelopes he can trade for a pencil if possible. I have a good friend who is in lancaster reception and the last I heard from him was a month ago at the time that he written asking for reading materials and writing supplies but no word from him yet plus the mail at least in my experience so far has been extremley slow:( But I would send whatever supplies possible keep his spirits up by sending him cards or jokes off the internet to keep his mind busy. Send him books also maybe send one that you guys can read together and then talk about it via letter that's something good to keep his mind healthy and focus:thumbsup: He needs to know that you are there and since letters are all that you have at the moment you have to make the best of it:thumbsup:

I was wondering if anyone has a loved one at this facility and have been trying to get an appointment to visit him in reception? You can only call on Fridays starting at 8a.m. I have the new number 661-723-8333 Ext 5401 or Ext 5889. Now then, I have waited to hear the entire message and then put in the extension. It says "Your call cannot be completed at this time, please try again later". Then he wrote and said that they said when the message starts put in ext right away. Well, I did that...no luck! Then I called again and hit 0 for operator, your call yada yada yada! Yes, I get through but don't get THROUGH! Every Friday I start calling at 7:57 a.m. I sit here redialing forever! Can anyone help with this issue please? Thank you!

i have been trying to get throughfor 3 months. I call every friday from 8-12. I still havent gotten through. i usually run 2 cordless phones completley out of battery. He is in C yard and they say that those appontments are gone by 9:30. I call every Saturday for cancellations but there never are any because the appointments are so hard to get. I am glad i dont have to work until noon or i know I would never have a chance. definatley makes you want to rip your hair out. My fiance hasnt talked to his counsler yet either. He says the counslers keep changing. he has been incarcerated since march and we still cant find out his release date. I think they are able to have pencils that dont have the metal tips for the eraser. I was gong to try to get some off those golf pencils they sell at staples they are short but are just pencil. i sent him a magazine off a website i saw here where you buy a single magazine instead of a year subscription, it took about a month to get there. I heard the same BS from one of the officers there about the extension numbers. The whole system is crap. Hope somebody is getting a visit, because I know it hasnt been me. Good luck ladies.

i have not been able to get through either but i did speak to someone today at 3 by then all apointments were filled. but what she told me is that they are going to start making visits only 30 min long but they will have more appointment times. since it is a reception only site it is crazy over there. hopes this helps

Jus so you all know there is only three windows at Lancatser for visiting in each yard and there is 4 yards so only 12 people are getting visits if every yard is reception there.. not like Chino and Wasco where 15 people at one time get proccessed for one hour and they can do up to 60 seats being filled.

Thanks ytakemyguy I forgot to mention that. I am sad that the appointments will only be 30 min long but glad that more people can get them. they are also supposivly going to start keeping a long to see who has and has not gotten in for awhile and if you have not gotten in for awhile they are going to schedual you an appointment. that is what the visiting lady told me but we will see if that actually goes through.

At this point I would be happy just to see him through the glass for a sec. The least they could do is let them get some phone action. its not ike they have to pay for the phone calls.
