Hello everyone,

I just joined PrisonTalk Online yesterday and I'm very excited about all these forums. It's just wonderfull to share your personal experiences with each other. I wrote my introduction in an other forum here, but dont ask me where :-) I'm absolute clumsy :-)

My fiancee is also incarcerated and we are planning to marry somewhere beginning next year. I would love to marry on the same day, that we felt in love ! Has someone experience what it is to marry in a federal prison ?

Please forgive me when my English is not correct. I'm from the Netherlands originally and I just moved a year ago to the United States.

Thank you,
Jejke

Welcome to PTO. My boyfriend is in federal prison. We have discussed getting married before he gets out, but I don't know the process. We haven't looked into it that deeply yet.

I hope that some of the members on this forum can help you more than me. Again, welcome to PTO!

Jejke,

Welcome... read the posts FCI Lompoc & UPDATE. I just got married on July 13th at a federal institute.

If you two are seriously considering it, discuss it further & get your letter in. They only do marriages quarterly. Next quarter is in October. Since you are not an American national, there may be a little bit more paperwork for INS purposes.

Hello Carla,

First my congratulations with your wedding. Did you had a nice day ( in spite of the place ) ? Tell me about it, I'm very interesting.

Thank you for your advice. Yes...we're considering a marriage soon, but I need to go back to my homeland anyway for some paperwork. I plan to do this somewhere in fall and I think we will marry first beginning next year. Oh yes... it takes a little more time and especially patient with the INS !!!

Hope to hear from you and thanks again,
Jejke

Hello red4rings,

Keep us posted ! I know "my man" for a long long time, but we felt in love after he got incarcerated.
