I was just on the phone with my husband and a recorded message came on the line and said our call was being terminated because a 3 way call was detected. First of all, I don't even know how to make a three way call on my phone. I know he can get in trouble for this and I would never do that. Has this ever happened to anyone else and what do I do now??

By the way...our call was never terminated. We kept talking for several more minutes before we got the 90 second warning.

Hey JimmysBabyGirl -- this happened to me a few months back when it was still MCI. Of course, the service provider doesn't really matter. However, when I called MCI they said that a cordless phone can cause it. I realized I had a 900 mhz cordless phone and that was causing the problem.

However, there is another way it can happen, too. If any 'clicking' happens on the call it could be interpreted by the system as a 3 way call.

We know of someone that got a disciplinary, lost her class, and almost was not paroled until her atty got involved. It all happened because her 2 year old daughter was pushing buttons on the phone during the call.

However, when it happened to us there was no disciplinary, nothing came of it at all, but it did cause us quite a bit of anxiety.

My suggestion would be to leave it alone unless he gets a disciplinary. Be sure to remember the time of the call and be prepared to call the unit and make his case for him if something comes up.

Good luck...
