I am due to report in mid July '07 and am very scared and unsure what to expect. Can anyone please help me in what i should expect for the first month. My judge ordered the drug program - any suggestions about it and how to get into it? Thank you!!

I myself will be surrendering to camp cupcake July 17th.. Im trying to also get information, but I think Im past that scared part. My biggest concern is that my fiance is incarcerated in Missouri in a state facility and we want to get married once I am surrendered.. he may or may not be out, but even if he is he will be on parole and I am trying to find out their policies.. it looks like we will be going around the same time tho so if you want you can message me.. maybe we can make some friends b4 we go ;)

I am due to report on the 16th and have a 1 year old. I too am so afraid that I will not see my significant other b/c he has a prior felony conviction. I am sure that my family will bring my son out at least once a month. I am from the south so the drive is pretty far. I decided to self report since it helps; or so they say! Anyway hope to hear from you soon.

Our time sure is running short, huh? Im worried about proceeding with my marriage. I know in state prisons they will transfer one inmate to another to get married, but Im not sure about federal and noone seems to be able to give me any information. I know once we are married and he is released I wont have as much of a problem with him visiting and he is in my psi which will help me as I was told by my pretrial officer and lawyer. I just want to get this all over with.. how much time do you have? Looks like Im comin in the day after you.. and tho I am also scared in some ways I do plan to make the best out of a terrible situation.

For the first month...about 2 weeks of that will be spent in a transition period where you are acquainted with the place. You will be in the A2. It is where all of the new people are housed. Learn to make your bed right. Get up on time and be in class on time. It is not scary...you will find that so many of the women there are really nice. The drug program gets out 4 times per year...July, October, January, and April. Those are also when the new classes begin. You get up to 18 months off (incl. 6 months half way house if you are in the drug program) so going in in July should give you ample time to interview and get into the October program if you have around this much time to do. Write specific questions and I should be able to answer them.
