Hi! My name is Danielle. This is all new to me. My boyfriend/bestfriend has just been transferred to Easterling from Kilby (he was just sentenced in March). I haven't seen him 2 months-since he left the Metro Jail. How long does it generally take before an inmate gets "settled in" and actually gets to receive visitors? And any other useful info is GREATLY appreciated. He's been given a life sentence plus ten. He's filed an appeal, but doesn't know anything yet. I'm just so sad and lonely.......:( helpless and lost. Any pointers would be great. Thanks!:)

Hey bobbylicious, It usually takes a few weeks to set up his visitation/funds/phone list. Once he sets them up and they are aproved then he will be able to call you and you will be able to visit. Visits are every other weekend. We have quit a few people here on this board that have loved ones at Easterling.

Welcome to PTO!!!!

Bobbylicious..
I just got out after 9 mos. at ECF and 10 mo. in the system for 12 mos. total. I hope you can hold it together. Writing and pictures are the key while you are down. My "ex" kept me abreast of things that were going on and my parents came to visit every 6 weeks or so. It was tough but the cards and letters were a big help.
I have even taken it upon myself to write my "partners" there to let them know whats happening in the real world.
Write back if you have any questions and I'll try to answer them.

Welcome, Danielle!!
My fiance is also at Easterling. It didn't take too long for the phone and visitors' list to get set up, once he got there. His parents & I were able to see him his first visitation after being transferred. It's not that bad. Or at least it hasn't been, so far!! I'm sorry to hear he got so much time!! Keep us posted on how things are going for ya'll!!

Hi Danielle and welcome to PTO! We are glad to have ya here. Sorry to hear about your current situation. I hope all goes well with his appeal. You should find lotts of support here and help through the tough times. You should go to Ala. Introductions and introduce yourself and share a little of your story. Nice to meet you hope to see you around.
Remember write write and write some more...they should get ya'll to visiting within the month.

Hi! It's been several days since I first posted. Sorry about that-been down in the dumps. But I wanted to update and let you all know that tomorrow, Saturday, I am going to visit Bobby (my heart) for the first time at Easterling. I am soooooo excited!! I cannot wait!! I haven't seen him or heard his voice since early April when he was still in Mobile Metro. We've written each other but that's all. I'm planning on leaving at about 3:30-4:00 a.m. to hopefully make sure I don't end up being too far back in the car line. I can't even express how ecstatic I am!!! I hope getting "checked in" and all goes okay. And that I follow all of the correct procedures. Wish me luck! And thank you :) for the encouragement and support!!!

I hope your visit went well. I would love to hear what you thought of the warm welcome you got from the guards and if it was tough.

By the time you read this you will have visited and I hope that it was a good one...my boyfriend was at Easterling (ECF) for about 2 years....it was not bad. He went thru Pre-sap and then the Crimebill program there which has helped him out lots mentally.........Hate to hear that your guy got such a harsh sentence. I hope the best for you guys! BTW, I am Tammie - my guy is now at CWC - and Welcome to PTO!
