Yeah, my brother-in-law was in Loxley, he got out a few years ago. The dress code and the rules and regulations as far as visitors go are the same there as they are at any other Alabama prison. The visitation area unless it has changed was very laid back compared to other prisons, it was more like a picnic setting, tables and benches outside where you could eat the food you brought for you and your loved one, there was also a building you could sit in too. You were checked and searched just like any other visit, like I said it's just a more laid back, no fences, just a barbed wire going around the visiting area so you will know where his boundaries are. Where will you be driving from and what prison is he coming from? Email if you would like email removed per pto policy

The work will very. My guy is in work release here in AL, they offer work at the prison, cooking etc.---work outside, golf course, trash department for the city, factory work, resturant work, and on and on. So there is no way to tell I don't think. My guy has done lotts of different work since being there. They even have goverment jobs, which you usually have to wait on something to open up. But where he is they find your job for you and offer you something. I think if you turn it down and it is something you have the skills to do they move you, but why in the world would someone turn down a job, a chance to be out in the free world? But where he is there is also a community work program where they don't get paid, soo they usually move them back down the hill and make em work anyway, just with out the pay they could of been getting.
I hope this helps you some.
Now Loxley, I don't know about specificly, but, work release visits, to me, seem much more laid back then the inside visits.
Best of luck to ya'll with the move and remember work release is a good thing!
