Hi Ladies - My fiance was just sent to mainline at Solano this past week and he will be there for the next 11+ months. I live in the Temecula area just north of San Diego, so this was kind of an unexpected shock for us. The drive for me is 8 hours!:(

I had planned to visit every other weekend if he was placed somewhere close to home, but now ... ????? Anyhow, I don't know if any of you are out there in a similar boat and can't get all the way up to Sacramento to see your men and are looking to carpool, but if so - I am your gal!!:thumbsup:

I have a Suburban and can bring others with me. All I ask is that you chip in for gas - I am even willing to arrange for hotel rooms and get us all to and from the prison. I can pick people up on the way if you can be picked up en-route, so if you would like to travel up that way and need a ride, feel free to PM me.

As of right now, if I'm going solo, my first trip will be Labor Day weekend - driving up Thursday night, August 30 late afternoon - Driving home Sept 3rd - after visiting. There will be 4 visiting days in that weekend! If someone wants to share costs sooner, I am more than willing to go before then. I haven't had a contact visit with my sweetie yet and I miss him.

hello my husband is in solano but i only live an hour and 45 minutes away but my best friend lives down south what we do is she takes the train then i pick her up she saves way over 300 dollars. try it she loved just relaxing on the nice cool amtrack good luck
