I have wanted to start learning more ways to take better pictures and all the different techniques and such but have no idea where to start. I always try to take a good pic but they never turn out what i see. I have a manual 35mm camera my dad gave me with all the telephoto lens' and stuff but have no idea about the camera adjustments. Does anyone have any ideas for starters. thanks

This too has always been my passion. When my youngest son heads off to college this is THE first thing that i am doing for myself. I thought i would take a course. Is there something offered through your local community college or community center? Good luck and have fun!!!! :)

The only thing I have seen is at the university and thats a junior course. I don't know if that would be to over my head or not.

I say Go For It!! You can always drop after the first class if you find it is over your head and then get your money back, or most of it.

You could always look for an online group to join, my husband is an award winning astrophotographer and I know he is a member of an online group which support each other and share techniques and stuff.

I found a photo class offered through the local parks and rec department. It really helped me. I am hoping to eventually be able to save up $700 to take the distance ed photo courses through the New York Institute of Photography. I started subscribing to different photo magazines and that has helped also. I am a film buff as oposed to digital. Digital is handy but I want to perfect my pictures in film rather than "cheat" using the digital photo enhancement programs. Once I get better with my old film camera I want to get one of the nice DSLRs. If you are in a metro area, do a search for photography clubs. If you want to PM me, we can chat about what kind of camera, what you are looking to do with it, what stuff means, etc. Just bear with me if it takes a bit to get back to you - work's kinda killing me.
