Both of us have never been so we were thinking about going so here are my questions..... Which one is the best? When is the best time to go? I am not bringing our daughter so I would rather a cruise when there is not 500 kids running around too. Any info is always helpful!
Thanks

I've personally never been on a cruise but I do have a friend who takes his wife every year. They love Royal Caribbean and suggest if you don't want a lot of young children around to avoid Carnival.

I've been on 2 cruises...and both were on carnival. Raeannii is right, if you don't want bunches of kids on there, don't go with Carnival. We've always had a great time, but sometimes all the kids have gotten in the way.
As far as the "best time to go"....the 2 times we've gone we went in April and May...that way you don't have the people getting away from the winter, and you don't yet have the summer travelers.
Where are you contemplating going? If you want "touristy" places, I'd suggest either Cancun or the Bahamas.....but if you're looking for exotic and off the beaten path, the 2nd cruise we went on, we went to Belize, Costa Rica and Panama. Once you get away from the port, there isn't much "touristy" about those places..
Hope this helps.

It really is going to depend on where you are going, now a world cruise you aren't going to run into a lot of kids - Greek islands are nice, I could do them over and over. Have you thought about a Windjammer type of thing, where they have a limited number of couples, or do you want the pools, casino, buffets, etc.?

we want to go the the Caribbean or just somewhere nice and warm and are looking to go in April/May of 2008. or even Septmeber. Nothing really leaves from Boston so we might have to fly down to FL to get a really good one. Don't want to spend and arm and a leg either

My mom & stepdad live on cruise ships, I think. They're going on their 8th cruise this July. They only travel on Royal Carribbean. As others have said, don't go on Carnival. It's cheaper...and you can tell.
Royal Carribbean has been good to my parents. Since they're repeat travelers they keep taking discounts off their price and bumping them up to better rooms.

There aren't many options for Royal Carribean when leaving from Boston!!!! UGGGG - this looks like it is going to be a long process

You mean by using Boston as a port? You can fly from anywhere to a port. Don't limit yourself.

yes I wanna use Boston as a port to save $$, I know I can use the major ports I just don't want to spend $$ to fly and then spend $$ on the whole cruise. Just looking to save a little extra $$

My mom & stepdad's Royal Carribbean cruise is leaving from Baltimore and they're driving the 6 hours between Ohio and there this year. I doubt Baltimore would be far for you... I know the ship they're doing goes up the coast of Maine and Canada ... and the following week goes down to Bermuda. The Bermuda one might be worth looking into for you.
