does anyone know the policies regarding reading material sent to federal inmates? I will be at a women's fed camp and wondered if poeple can buy used books and mail them to me. Is this allowed? Thanks for any info you might know!

Hi faeriegirl,

I love fairies, have checks and everything! My fiancee is in Federal Prison. People can send you up to three paperbacks in each mailing. Hardbound books must be sent directly from companies such as Barnes and Noble, etc. is a great site for used books. My fiancee is taking courses via distance learning and his textbook from the college was $79.00. I found it at for $6.25! What kind of books do you like? I am a bibliophile and wouldn't mind sending you some when I finished with them...when do you have to go?

I haven't sent Billy any books yet, but I have sent him magazines. I bought them from the store and just sent them straight to him. He got them without problems.
