After just reading all of the posts....I would like to add just one thought. Yes, America has a lot of problems, racism, gangs, drugs. Yes there are a lot of people in jail/prisons. However, I do not know of many countries that allow their people to peitition the government for new laws, to speak freely against the problems of the system. To even get some laws change. If America is as bad as was stated earlier...then why are people risking their lives to come to this country.

I agree with you- USA is an awesome country-the best, in my opinion. The DOC here needs a lot, A LOT of work, as do some other areas. But I would not want to live anywhere else. You are right; here we have opportunities to question and challenge injustices where in some parts of the world we would literally be killed for doing just that. That is all the more reason that we need to ban together and make changes happen here in the US--because we CAN make things happen.

How right you are. There is no place in the world that is better to live in than the Good Old US. That is why it is so important that we stand and fight the injustices that we do have here. We have the right to fight them. No where else can we do that. Here we can, so let's do something about them. Don't stand by and watch any longer. Join an organization that can ban together and get the changes made that we so desparately need. Organizations such as Cure - Amnesty International and others are trying hard to make things right.
