Hi Everyone,

My husband was sentenced to 12 months on May 21st of this year. He has been gone for 4 days now and I already hate the county jail he is in. I go and drop what he is allowed to have and I have to call and get into their butts in order for it to be taken back their to him. He was convicted of a probation violation and was sentenced to RCF. The jail has told him though that he was going to ADC and he is freaking out. He was sentenced 12 months RCF and then probation for 60 months. I am trying to get it to where he goes to the Little Rock RCF facility and not Texarkana or Osceola due to the fact that I am on disability and am unable to afford the trip to see him. Does anyone know any information on any of these facilities? I have been told that since this is time plus probation he will have to do the full year. We had an incompetent attorney that told him to take the deal so we are stuck now. The local sheriff is working on an ADC bond for him since he will not earn credit for sitting in the county jail awaiting transfer. This is the first time that either one of us have been through this so any information will be greatly appreciated. The sheriff told me that he was going to approve the bond, but that prosecutor and judge have to sign off on it and the prosecutor doesn't like my husband soo I am really scared that we will not get it. Please help me with any information that you can. Thanks

HI and welcome to PTO.

My brother spent some time in the regional punishment facility in Osceola. 11 months. But that has been a few years ago and I am sure things have changed since then. He says the programs were a joke there. All they had to do was sign their names but there weren't actually any classes. He had to take anger management and a drug abuse program. 11 months was not long enough it seems. He got out and went right back into his old ways. If you are there to be rehabilitated forget it. If you are there to just serve your time and get out, then it is a GREAT place to serve your sentence.

Good luck and hoping the best for your husband.

I am hoping that my husband is sent to Little Rock RPF facility. He has to turn himself in Monday at the county jail and has been there for 4 1/2 days now. It is killing me that he is in there. He received 12 months plus 60 months probation. He violated his original charge of B&E and then was found guilty of a new felony offense with the Arkansas Hot Check law. They had originally given him an extended probation on the original charge, but he failed to report to his probation officer and pay his court obligated payments so she threw the book at him and resigned the same day. We had everything paid on the Breaking and Entering Charges but the lawyer we had at the time was incompetent so here we are. I hate this county jail that he is in. We are working with the sheriff to try to get him out on an ADC bond but have not heard anything yet. He has been distant with me and I am scared that we are not going to make it through this. I was told that he would have to do the full 12 months because of the probation, then i have been told 4 months, 6 months, and 9 months.

Hi return2sender --

Welcome to Arkansas PTO! I am not sure what you are asking. Do you mean is there a social worker employed at Pulaski County Jail for the inmates? If so, I still don't know the answer but if I were a betting man I would bet that the answer is "NO".

They can't pay to fix a roof. They don't have funds to hire more officers so they can open up other beds. All because we wouldn't vote to approve a jail tax last year. WHATEVER!

So I would bet they wouldn't have anything as 'frivolous' as a social worker. (Yes, I am being sarcastic...NOT aimed at you, though.)

The phone number to PCJ is 501-340-7000. Call and ask them...

Once again welcome!
