I'm new to this site also... it's pretty interesting I currently have a friend located at Hazelton too, just waiting for the 19th to roll around so he could call asap! I wonder if they're in the same department, since it's divided into 4 or something SweetRican04 02-20-2008, 05:12 PM Hello... I have a loved one in Hazelton right now... I'm located in va anyone else TheWifey 03-07-2008, 07:08 PM My fiancee just got to Hazelton and man is he happy that he finally got there. He wa sheld over in Allenwood Low for about some weeks from Lewisburg awaiting transfer. He was at Lewisvburg for over two years and was very anxious to get out of there. Lewisburg is laid back but have alot of petty charges that they put on the inmates and take away privileges for a ridiculous amount of time. Example 6 to 7 years. One thing that I am happy about at Hazelton is that he can rejoin his gang cause they can walk the line there. Yup, mine is a bad boy but the gang will keep him straight. He has a 25 year sentence. At least at Hazelton he can send e-mail to me and his family which is great. We have always had to stick to the lousy 300 minute rule for calls that cost lots of money and of course lets not forget about the letter writing which can at times take a while for him to get considering the reading of them by BOP. This can be a pain in the butt if you are one of those people that only wants to honestly communicate with your inmate. I also have a almost-son at another BOP (both fiancee and almost-son were gang and got caught up when they were younger in stupid young gang shit that is not what the gang is really all about.) I have not been there yet for visits. I am looking forward to visits. Anyway, I also am a new Hazelton spouse. kintml2u 03-07-2008, 07:19 PM Do they have email at the USP? I'm not sure I've seen that mentioned...I knew they had it at the camp Lylac 03-09-2008, 08:14 AM Welcome! My husband just got transfered to USP hazelton. Already he's in the hole. I heard it was a violent prison. Any info on that? mariafed 03-20-2008, 12:25 PM I am hearing some bad things about the violence myself but this area does not seem vary active. please do share what you can. kintml2u 03-21-2008, 05:54 AM I haven't been able to come up with much info on this place. Someone just told me it was like a gladiator zone... TheWifey 04-06-2008, 10:13 PM E-Mail is great. We communicate everyday and night. He is finally communicating with neices and nephews he has not been able to communicate to in a long while. It costs $2 per 30 minutes. We get them 2 hours after they send them. He must send request thru the site to the person to be allowed to e-mail you, you then hit approve and send. He can then send e-mails. No attachments or pictures. He can read but can not print. It is better then writing letters and a good way to keep him up to date on daily routines. My husband is in B block. There is not much for them to do so he is always at the gym watching movies. He has told me of a few fights with the native indians but not much else. I went to visit, the Microtel hotel is right down the street from the facility. You can takes coins for the vending food machines but they must be in a clear plastic bag or baggie. I am from central New Jersey and it took me about 5 hours to get there. We are scheduled to get married on the 18th of June. Phone calls are better if you send $70 to the inmate account for $300 minutes. Or you can set up an account with VAC for your phone number with a prepay. They cost about the same except the VAC prepay costs $7.95 every credit card deposit you leave. The good thing about that is that you can put any number with an account to include cell phone. The facility prepay they must use the numbers they put on the list. I am liking him here at Hazelton, he was at Lewisburg before. We have a friend in Big Sandy and they are always on lock down. mariafed 04-08-2008, 12:33 PM they have emial at hazelton?
