My husband and I have friend who is a lifer there at Sierra Conservation Center. We got a letter from him yesterday and they are about to move him again. The section he is in will be scattered. I don't know where he will end up. But mentally and emotionally he is ready for it.

Hey there, well first I want to say that my man is not in Jamestown, but hopes really soon he gets to go up there. His points should already
be dropped, he is just waiting on his counselor for his 1 year evaluation, which will happen in this month, so now my question is were are the southern california camps at, I did get to see a tread for northern camps, but he for sure had put in the request for southern, anyways if you have any idea were I can view that, please inform me. I just want to see what is near to me and I just want to start on that search already. Thank you!!

Hello there my husband is going on five months at Sierra Conservation Center, Jamestown or "Jamestown" this is the first time we have to go through this and I was expecting something worst, visits are saturdays, sundays and some holydays. i recommend getting there around 7:00 am so you can get an early number, if you are traveling more than 200 miles you will be able to visit from the time you get into the visitation room til 3:30 pm if you are not then there's always a possibility they might kick you out before that unless the inmate hasn't had a visit in more than 30 days. The rules at the visit are not too hard to handle, no blue jeans, short shorts, shorts skirs, no sleveless shirts, no white or blue shirts, and now no v neck shirts, and no wired bras. From what my husband tells me the environment is very melow specially in level 1 and 2 yards. Lockdowns are not very ofter but the surenos seem to get them more often than any other race. Level 3 inmates are being transfer to other prisons since this yard will be PC pretty soon. Guards are okay at the visit no touching of course 1 kiss hello and 1 kiss goodbye! Mexican Nationals or Paisas are the majority. My husband did not qualify for fire camp because he is doing only 1 year almost over thanks God, but almost everybody in level 1 and 2 are waiting to get sent to fire camp they might train but it takes a while to get send to fire camp! I don't know what else to tell you if you need more info I'll be more than glad to help you. If you get there at 7:00 am there's a guard giving number up to forty in the parking lot if you don't get one is okay around 7;45 am people with no numbers start forming a line and wait for the guard to call the numbers and give visiting passes after they're thru with the numbers they start calling people w/o once you get a pass you will go down to the "Friends Outside" house, they are very friendly people that will tell you if your clothes are appropiate and if not they will let you borrow some of the clothes they have, they provide snaks and only ask for donations, still got questions they are the best people to ask you will sign in inthere and just wait for them to call your number, once your number is called you will have to go down to the visit room you will have to take off your shoes give you ID, show your $30.00 in singles or quarters per every adult visiting, take off any jewerly, belts, etc... give them your pass and then go thru the metal detector once this is cleared and they check you are approved then put everything back on and sign again and they'll stamp you right hand and let you in then they will call your loved one and you will have to pick a table and wait tables on the right are for more than one person visiting the same inmate, wait for your loved one to get there after that enjoy while you can, not a lot of diversity in food, but oh well your loved one will like it (poor guys have no other choice). Well I hope i was of any help! I am tired now, I'm leaving, but i check this almost everyday there's always good info! Take care, everybody!

The visits at Jamestown are ok....everything MariV is true. I visited my man there for 5 months before he got transferred to a firecamp. There are some great women that you can talk to as you are waiting to get in to see ur man. The women are nice and always willing to share thier story. Also there are also some that are looking for carpools if you are coming from a long distance. Just remember nothing tight and nothing low cut in the chest area. The dress codes are getting stricter from when I first starting visiting. Before it was pretty laxed in the visiting room. The CO's at the registration desk are cool. Remember that if you are bringing kids to bring thier birth cert. I will gladly answer any other question u might have. Good Luck and make those kisses good one, I always did!!
