View Full Version : Inmate Stabbing at Parchman Unit 32
Jonathan 05-31-2007, 12:32 PM I have not been able to find out any of the details on this, however I called and received the following on them:
Lamarcus Lee Hillard K3739
Possesion of Cocaine with intent to distribute
Serving 25 Years
Boris Harper L0605
Capital Murder
and 2 Charges of Aggravated Assault
Serving LIFE
Both were located at Unit 32
My biggest question is HOW IN GOD's NAME did these two get into an altercation? Unit 32 is solitary cells, and noone is able to be in contact with another inmate.
When you are outside of your cell your are shackled and handcuffed. You always have a guard escort outside of your cell, and HOW did they get into contact with each other???
kadejah05 05-31-2007, 12:39 PM In solitary only one inmate out at a time. They are handcuffed and shackled. Sometimes when they are going back to their cells the person that opens up their cell accidently opens the wrong cell.
So my guess would be that they opened the wrong cell door and that inmate got out without being handcuffed. Do you know if the one that was stabbed was the one in handcuffs?
Jonathan 05-31-2007, 12:46 PM Nothing is being released on those details - however I was told that No guards were present
chickletone 05-31-2007, 04:35 PM From what I could find out (which was siltch) no info will be released pending the investigation.

This is so awful..
firstat 06-03-2007, 04:38 PM Hi , just wondered if anyone has heard anything ?
hoping to get a call tomorrow..
darnellkim 06-03-2007, 04:56 PM I talked to my hubby he is there and he called and told me what happened there, and that is one of the reasons why I don't want him there, I feel that it should have never got that far to now someone is dead, and where were the guards? I feel that maybe it was a set up? Or who knows the guards didn't really care anyway? It's my feeling I feel that anyone that was supposed to be on that zone should be fired! I mean I know that they are dealing with inmates but should they have to be in fear of their lives locked up with supposed to be security? Just my opinion!

Here's the guy who stabbed the other inmate
firstat 06-04-2007, 01:08 AM Kim I know what you're saying!
Yeah, from what my partner has told me over the years .. to describe this place as a nightmare doesn't come close.
I hope i hear from him real soon, this waiting is sore!,
Jonathan 06-05-2007, 10:58 AM Did anyone else see the Christopher Epp interview this morning? He said that both inmates were in their cells - and that a spear was thrown that stabbed the other in the chest.
This would be so believeable if it were not for the fact that you have a wall in front of each cell so you cannot see across or ahve any human contact - that must have been a really smart spear!
Looking for news article and will post when I find it.
chickletone 06-05-2007, 02:03 PM Nothing on the web~newspaper yet! I really can't believe he fixed his mouth to say that! Does he not think anyone outside knows what it looks like inside? What is or isn't possible? I've heard of some really amazing ways to do things but????? hmmm? Maybe they studied the art of boomarang making in all those classes that are availible to our inmates.
Jonathan 06-05-2007, 04:18 PM Here is more on the news article:
An inmate who killed a fellow prisoner last week in a gang-related attack at Parchman had fashioned a makeshift spear from a mop handle and stabbed his victim through the bars of his cell, Corrections Commissioner Chris Epps said.
Epps said Lamarcus Lee Hillard was in his cell when he stabbed Boris Harper in the heart while Harper was cleaning the floors outside the cells in Unit 32, the maximum security facility at Mississippi State Penitentiary.
Epps said Hillard had been issued a mop to clean his own cell and detached the handle to form the shaft of the spear. He said Hillard used a metal lever from his cell toilet, sharpened by rubbing it against the cell's concrete floor, as the spear point, and stabbed Harper when he got close enough.
"All this was about was gang related, bottom line. In prison, we've got over 5,000 gang members, and all of them thugs," Epps said.
Epps would not directly name the gang affiliation involved but said "both of them are black, and the only black gangs (in Parchman) are Vice Lords."

QUEENDRURY 06-05-2007, 04:30 PM this is so sad that all he had to think about was this other inmate.
I-Care 06-06-2007, 04:58 AM How long would it take a man who has a mop to mop HIS CELL to make a spear from the "mop handle" UNNOTICED?????? As well as how he actually threw it to hit the man and kill him. I read the otherarticle as well.
Now at Delta and maybe at MCCF such mess going on as well. Goodness, I am praying for all. Every one better check before they try to go to visits and see if they are in lock down for sure now...
