My husband already has his GED from being in prison b4 & they are making him take classes again. He hates do it all over again, but his mother has supposed to have ordered all his info to get him out of it...but in the mean time he has to re~ take all the classes he already taken:( What a bummer

The state of Arkansas gets $1500 for every inmate that goes through the GED program. My husband graduated from high school and they STILL made him get his GED!

ohhh i see. So Their GREEDY huh?!? lol

The quandry is this: he has a HSD, but his TABE test says he reads on a third grade level. WOuldn't you WANT him to be at least be able to read a newspaper? ANd I would imagine the $1500 would be for any inmate who actually GETS a GED...not for every inmate who goes thru the program. Otherwise, everybody would be in the GED program.
