I was just wondering if anyone knows what reception is like at san quentin , my brother just got there on 9-22-03 I just would like to know what he might be going threw , he as never been to prison and I love him so much. Im worried. Do they put him by himself in a cell or is he in a dorm all info would be great,

Im real new to all this prisao stuff but my love is also in san q. rec. as far as i know hes in a cell with one other guy ,but there is also somewhere where there is 400 guys in one big room. do you have his address?? i know alpine section is cells. alls i know is that he says reception sucks bad. hell be in till feb 27th. how bout your brothere??

San Quentin Reception is the pits according to my husband. He said there is 5 tiers
up of inmates in reception on West Block. 2 guys to a cell. They are in their cells
for 23 hours a day, out for breakfast and dinner, shower 2-3 times a week, not allowed
to call home but can have visits between the glass once you are approved for visiting
and that takes 30 days or more, depending on the visiting Sgt. He also said it is Freezing in that place, cold hard cemet. And if they are really lucky out on the yard
once a week.
