My cousin has never been physically violent to his ex-wife other than threatened to burn the house down when he was drunk. He gave her a new house, two new cars, almost a million dollars, child support and paid for counseling which she refused to attend. She has alienated his children from him (who are now over 18) and his daughter refused to allow him to attend her wedding. Now the ex wants to extend the DVO for 3 more years, even including the brand new grandchild.

My cousin has completed his halfway house program and the director wants to drive to the court and testify personally how successful my cousin is because he feels this is such an outrage. Even my cousin's son-in-law, a lawyer, told him his ex was violating his civil rights.

Is there anything he can do to prepare, research? I have found some articles on Parental Alienation Syndrome and they are right on.

This case will be heard in KY.

Thanks in advance.

Was it a DV case that got him into prison?

No, it was a DUI. Or should I say multiple--4. After his divorce, he didn't much care about anything.
