Hi Everybody,

I have a question... I know that this has been a repeated rumor and/or thread, but I have to see if anyone is hearing it again, and how true is it. My brother-in-law is in Chowchilla and he says that they are releasing prisoners that have less than three years left and non-violent felonies. Has anyone else heard this? He says that they have already been releasing prisoners since March. He claims that they will be releasing more on May 16, 2007 and they have to have them all out by June 1, 2007. Anyone, please enlighten me. My sister is shopping down, I hope it is not in vain. Holla back anyone who knows something. Thank you. cutiecake.

well my old man got a letter about this same thing and was told that those who have already done 80% of their time are elgiblie for release. The governor has to have a solution to the overcrowding population. so my old man was told he was going to get out in August 2007. but come to find out they are now saying that the governor is going to make more beds.

My fiancee is in Chowchilla at VSPW and she spent the weekend a week ago building 200 more beds in the gym. Doesn't sound like a good sign to me.

My guy is in S.Q. reception still but I also have heard there are going to be some early releases. good luck to all..... And 80% of their time? meaning those who are strikeable serving 85% or those eligible for 1/2 time who've done 80% of that? just curious.

hey all sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this is just a nasty rumor. as of right now, the governor has promised that not a single inmate wil be released early if he has any say in the matter. AB 900 passed a few weeks ago and is the bill designed to keep the feds out of the CDCR and prevent any early release.

the good news: its not over yet! next month their will be several federal judges ruling on whether or not the CDCR's overcrowding is unconstitutional enough for them to take over and begin early releases. This may happen, but its several months to a year away. see the CA news forum, there is lots of current info in there about the legislation that affects CDCR and the status of federal rulings. and....of course.....write to your senators/assemblymen/judges/mayors anyone and let them know you are not happy with the overcrowding and the CDCR is out of control!

but as of right this minute, everyones release date is the same. ive been hearing about these rumors since my man was arreted, hopefully someday they will be true!
