I spent this past Friday with my gal pal and best friend. I was quite impressed on how well she has adapted, much better than county jail. She said the food wasn't that bad, and they have facilities to where she can work out and get back in shape. Also I was impressed on how good the place looked, appeared to look like a college campus, also the prison staff was very polite, but they did tell me if I got out of line, at least they were not breathing down your neck during your visit. They have closed all the cottages and filled in the swimming pool, also they do "NOT" have air-conditioning. They have access to send and receive e-mails at the cost of .05 cents a minute for every minute you are on the computer. I stayed at the local hotel for about fifty bucks a night, the hospatality house was booked due to Mother's Day. Trust me, this prison is out in the middle of no where, but the folks in Alderson were so kind to me, sat around and shot the bull at the hotel, had lunch at the local resturant, good food!! The AM-Trak train runs there Sunday,Wednesday, and Friday. I expect to visit once a month, and will post more as I learn new things to pass along

Thank you for sharing that information. My sister is there and she wants us to come and visit her. It will be a 7 hours drive for me to get there and I was unsure as to where we would be staying. I have visited other Federal facilities and treated like I should be staying there instead of visiting. I am glad to hear that the people there treat others with some type of respect. I will tell her that I'll be coming soon.
