Hi,

does everyone know what exactly happens to a suicidal inmate?

I heard they get placed naked in a "security" cell that is almost completely empty.
Whatelse? How long do they have to stay in there? what happens next?

Milena, I don't know what state you are in but in MI they are placed in a cell without clothing but they are usually given a bamboo outfit to wear. It is just an item that they can cover up with that is sleeveless and slips over their head and goes down to between the hips and knees. They are either put on 15 minute rounds that the officer needs to check on them or could even be placed on Direct Observation where an officer sits outside the cell. They are fed finger foods like sandwiches that they don't need silverware to eat.

thank you so much! He is incarcerated in Florida

Does anyone know what happens after they are released from this suicide cell? And what happens if the officers think that the inmate is just pretending?
how long do they keep the inmates in this special cell?

It is up to the psyche how long they are kept in the cell. The officers are usually too busy in there to worry about if an inmate is pretending and it isn't up to them to decide that.
