My son was recently sentenced to to to Sheridan Or for 1.5 hears. Any suggestions on where to stay that is reasonable? Any other transportion advise would be helpful. We are from Washingon state. Thank you.

Actually, Sheridan federal prison is in Oregon. Go to the Regional and State forums and go to the very first one, which is the Federal Forum and post. You'll get lots of info.

That said, I am familiar with Sheridan. You can stay in motels either in McMinnville or Dallas, Oregon. They are about equal distance from Sheridan. If you're coming from Washington, McMinnville would be the place to stay. The Best Western Motel there is nice and not too expensive. There is only one motel in town there that everybody says to stay away from. I can't remember the name but it starts with a "P".

Sheridan is out in the country, so you really need a car to get there. No bus service that I know of. The biggest larger city nearby is Salem, the capitol of Oregon.

Paragon is the name of the motel to stay away from. YCAP does run a bus to Sheridan, I don't know about the prison or the days. I believe you can make prior arrangements with them. Sunday they don't run, their number is

Hello, I saw you wanted info on Sheridan. My Husband has been in the Detention side for about 3 mos. now so if you have any other detailed questions you can PM me any time. Go to bop.gov in the search, select facilities. Type in Sheridan. Choose the first one FCI visiting regulations and go to the bottom of the page. You will find taxi and hotel info with numbers as well. Let me know if you do not find it and I will make a copy and send it to you. Hope this helps:)
