Jenuwine 09-22-2003, 02:59 PM I sent the book to hubby. I'm not sure why but for some reason he didn't care for it too much. He only liked a few stories that he could relate to in terms of us. *shrug* I happened to like it. Especially the story on crossing bridges.
shiva65 10-09-2003, 06:49 PM Still have not heard anything about delievery of book yet.. but i am sure it will get there eventually.. the prison likes to take there time passing mail out..
i am going for a visit tomorrow the first in a while .. wish me luck

toi_ama 10-09-2003, 06:53 PM I've read The Prisoner's Wife and liked it. I was going to send it to Fred, but then wasn't sure it was a book a man would relate to that much. I think it's more appealing to a woman who is waiting for her man. What do you think?
LeaAnn 10-09-2003, 07:12 PM I'm not completely done with it yet but I have to agree with Toi about it being for women. I do not think my man would be all that interested.
shiva65 10-10-2003, 05:53 AM yes the prisoners WIFE is definately for us.. di dyou like it?? she has othe books.. non prison related.. i ordered two other ones.. will let you know about those..

BryansGRRL 10-13-2003, 01:23 PM You could ask for it at a LG chain bookstore near you or buy it online :) You can also ask in the store if they will ship it to your loved one if you want! Some will some won't.

I ordered mine through amazon .com. and yes i think you can order from any book store for yourself..
maybe even your library can order it.. here in mass one of the books i read was carried in a library..
the prison my boyfriend is in, however will only allow orders via internet.. not a bookstore.. i am waiting for my copy of "dream lover" .. soon i ordered that from amazon.

Emilios heart 11-14-2003, 10:32 PM I believe they are talking about the one by Asha. I have it and read it ... I loved it. As for the Chicken Soup one I bought it read some of it and sent it to my husband he'll loved it and is sharing it with the guys on his block.

Dream Lovers: Women Who Marry Men Behind Bars
by Jacquelynne Willcox-Bailey
Book Description
"I didn't go out on Saturday or Sunday nights, because I'd want to be fresh to
visit him the next day. All that was missing for me were the bars on my
windows."
Imagine if the most important relationship of your life was restricted to daily
phone calls, censored letters and weekly cuddles in a crowded visiting room. In
"Dream Lovers: Women Who Marry Men Behind Bars", prison couples reveal
intimate details of their lives together - how they met, how they love and, for
some, how they cope with the tragic aftermath of a marriage that everyone said
was doomed from the start
If so is it any good?
