Gerald Collins sits in Delaware Correctional Center day in and day out with no legal prospect of his circumstances changing before the day he dies.
In spite of such bleak prospects for the future, Collins is one of seven lifers who are volunteering to act as mentors for inmates who have a chance of walking free someday.
The My Brother's Keeper Mentorship program kicks off its second class next week with 14 inmates eligible for parole committing to being coached on personal development by these "big brother" lifers.
