Hello! My sister just self surrendered yesterday to Carswell Medical Center at 8:00 pm. Does anyone know how long before they update her information on inmate locator? She is still showing in transit. Any information you can provide would be helpful. I am feeling extremely sadden for her.

Hello Curious07. I'm sorry I cant help you with any info. on your question, but could you please tell me about these " Medical Centers " ????
Why I want to know is because I have to Self Surrender next month to a Satellite camp which is Minimum Security in Tucson, Arizona, but I have a severe spine injury and Im on a perscription of 180mg daily of Oxycotin. Which is a VERY POWERFUL narcotic. I am a first time offender and was praying to get home arrest because of my condition. After reading your question I really would appreciate your info. on these Medical Centers.

Thank You and God Bless You,

Lanny

Hi Lanny, I to am hoping for house arrest because of my medical condition. The judge at my sentencing reserved the right to resentence me if BOP could not provide the medical treatment I need, but my lawyer is dragging her feet on this. She said the judge could not, by law, resentence me. But he reserved the right to so I'm not sure what is going on. Some say the medical care at Carswell is good and some say it's horrible. I have gotten 4 extensions for surrender because of my medical treatment. I was first ordered to self surrender on Jan. 4, 2007. I am also a first timer and a white collar crime. I guess the medical treatment you get depends on what you need. I am due to surrender on June 25 but I believe I will get another extension due to my medical. Good luck in there.

Lanny and donethat; I do not personally have any dealings with the medical facilities. I do however am in contact with a lady who is in Carswell and she has never said anything really bad about it. Basically it is like all other federal prisons; the medical attention you get is minimal at most. However Carswell also has a mental ward and I do hear horror stories about it. It also is a low security camp that I know a lady who is there and she says it is really not a bad place at all the way prisons go. Still the medical treatment is very minimal. I am not sure one place would be any better than another as far as the medical centers. Sorry I could not be of more help but that is about all I hear about it.
