Hello,
I am a journalist and photographer from Spain, you can view my work at alvaroleiva . com , I am interested on photographing African American persons that have been at Parchman, or families with a relative at Parchman.

Please if you are interested on being photographed contact me.

I believe that the inmates are an important part of society, and that more attention should be paid to their plight and the circumstances that landed them in jail in the first place.

My objective with this work is to help raise an awareness for the need to integrate the Delta region into the rest of America. I hope that with these photos I can break through the many existing stereotypes about the Delta people and portray them in a positive way so that their voices can be heard.

Thank you in advance for your help,
Kindest regards,

Alvaro Leiva
