Hello- my boyfriend went in on March 5th, spent a month and a half in county and then only a week at Alhambra. He was moved to Marana yesterday and not being able to talk to him is just killing me. We wouldn't even know that he was moved if it hadn't been for his mom's maternal intuition which led her to call this morning. He has been doing really well so far, but I am still worried of course. Does anyone know anything about Marana? It looks like he'll be there for a year or so. I live in California so I will have to drive back and forth when I can visit him. If anyone has any tips for him or me, I would really appreciate it. He is very outgoing and actually made friends with some guys in county, but we have all heard that you have to just keep your head down and not really talk to anyone in the actual prisons. I just feel like I have a million questions in my head. This is so hard, I've never had to deal with anything like this before. Thanks for your support.

Marana is easy. Its located about 1 1/2 hours south of Phoenix. It's a Minimum Security Prison. They have food visits. When you go to visit make sure its your day, although I think you said you were in California. So you will get both days. The Prisoners for the most part all have under 2 years they have a ton of programs. My husband spent his last 5 months there. The visitation room is small so get there early. When you get there go inside fill out your slip turn it in, then they come out and call you when it's your time to go in. It's pretty relaxed, but very hot.... They do have hotels south towards Tucson. If you have any questions just pm:cool:
