Whomever is opening mail at that horrible place is stealing or destroying U.S. Mail. I need to know if this is legal. Just because a person is locked up, does that give them the right to withhold U.S. mail? What is their problem? Do they think just because a person is locked up and paying for their crime against society, they have no rights to U.S. Postal mail. I suspect they would keep the Money Orders if they would not get caught. I know for a fact they steal stamps. To me they are no better than the people that are locked up.

Why aren't somene doing something about it? Wrong is wrong no who does it. What the matter with this picture and to think The Prison System trust these few people. Don't they know or is it alright to steal inmates mail. After all they have no rights, but does that includes mail?. Is everyone afraid to say soomething? Who is over the Tutwiler Prison System...Who is the Commissioner. Something needs to be done. Do we have to make someone sign for each and every letter sent their? Why do we have to have each letter signed for...why the added expense. The two that open the mail needs a polygraph test. I would love to pay for them.

They make them feel that their family does not care about them by not writing to them. And that crock about room-mate stealing mail makes me sick. Each in-mate has an AIS# so how are they stealing their mail. They will tell the family anything...and heaven help us if we call and question them about their mail. Please families if your love ones tells you they didn't get something you sent that is legal to send.....don't let those crooks take it from you. I'm going to ask the U.S. Postal Service Inspector how U.S. Mail is handled and do family members have to endure the added expense to ensure they get their mail. This could be just a privilege..I do not know, but I will post response so all will know. I feel like I've been robbed by a Crack Head. How long has this been going on?
This is my goal and we all know we need goals.

You could contact Brian Corbett, he is the public information officer at 334-353-4053 and tell him what has been going on with the mail room. The commissioner is Richard Allen at this number 334-353-3883.

When you talk to your postmaster there are a couple of forms you can fill out such as Mail Loss/Rifling report and a Mail Theft Complaint, and the post office will check into it.

I am a few months late with any help, but I send stamps with a note saying what is inclosed... Some places you have to send a money order NO stamps allowed... I thought Tutwiller was a NO stamps by mail facility. I see Raymonds wifey has given you the contact numrbers who might can help you. There are so many things that stress outthe innocent victums of crimes. you have to really keep a close but kind contact with anyone who can and will helpya. Good luck. if i can help i will. later, Gayle 48
