e_wife03 04-15-2007, 10:41 PM I will move this to the alabama forum this way you can get specific information on sending a money order
Blueyez94 04-16-2007, 10:22 AM Yes, you can send the money order with your letter.
J-macsbabygirl 04-16-2007, 03:23 PM and it doesn't have to be any special or certain kind of money order right?
CS loves JW 04-16-2007, 06:53 PM My understanding is that it has to be a postal money order. I've never tried to send the other kind, but to be on the safe side, I would get one from the post office.
J-macsbabygirl 04-16-2007, 09:34 PM oh gosh, I got one from Spectrum.... do you think they will take it???? if not will they send it back?? I have never had to send him money myself, so I'm all new to this... If I have to pay bills by money order I always get one from Spectrum, so I just figured it would be the same. But then when I was at the post office today I say where it showed a money order and it looked totally different than the one I sent.... someone hepl...lol advice please
Suthrndreamgirl 04-17-2007, 12:36 AM Hi. I also send to AL. I have used US postal & Money Gram money orders. I called to find out what ones were accepted...the list went on & on & on. After I heard a few...I was like ok...thank you. There was no way I could write them as fast as she was telling me. You may want to give them a quick call in the morning if it'll make you feel better knowing for sure. I always dropped mine in with a letter or note. Wish I could be of more help.
J-macsbabygirl 04-17-2007, 08:57 AM so they let you send it?? which Al prison do you sned to?? No actually you eased my worry a little...lol thanks, I'll call in a few thanks girl!!
CS loves JW 04-17-2007, 09:47 AM That's really good to know, because it is certainly a pain to have to go to the post office to send money. Now if they'd just do JPay or Western Union or something like that, it'd be REALLY easy. Anyone know if they allow Traveler's Express money orders? I know you can buy those online and have them sent for free.
Blueyez94 04-17-2007, 09:54 AM I didn't know you could get the travlers express money orders online and sent for free....pretty cool, i usually just send a us postal money order, there is a post office a block away from where i work. Most facilities accept most of your money orders but you could always call to make sure that money order your sending is on there list.
J-macsbabygirl 04-17-2007, 12:43 PM Thanks!!:D
BT'S LIL SIS 04-17-2007, 02:03 PM I think they take any kind of money orders because my mom has picked them up from hole in the wall places to hometown drug stores, grocery stores, they all look different,i always send Us postal though,b/c i trust them the most if one gets lost or stolen,i can always get my $$ back.
J-macsbabygirl 04-17-2007, 02:11 PM yea from now on I'll be geting ones from the Post office...lol
Suthrndreamgirl 04-17-2007, 11:06 PM There's an advance payday store that offers free money orders here. There's never a line...unlike the post office. I think I remember her telling me they accepted Western Union money orders.
