well ladies, i received a letter today, he said that he had received a scribe from a friend of his saying that the MSNBC camera crew was near that guys cell and he heard the lady ask if (my guy) was still there. SO he said that he'd let me know whats going on. he had heard they was comen back to do some more interviewing.. said in the letter, he had heard they'd be there for 6 weeks, guess maybe they are doing some footage for a new line up of lock up shows. he wasn't sure if he was going to do another interview or not, but i'm guessing he may. has anyone else gotten word that they have talked to anyone from MSNBC this time around already?
if your loved one done a interview last time, after seeing the show, would you want them to do it again? or after seeing the show, ( even if your loved one wasn't on there, what do you feel about them maybe being on it this time around?

SnakeCharmer:

Hi girl! I'm so sorry that I missed your call the other day! I was sound asleep, and didn't even hear the phone ring! I will email you later on, because I have to talk to you about something! I want to go and take a nap in a few minutes, because I am just dead tired. I haven't been to bed AT ALL yet. I just can't seem to fall asleep. I guess it's just nerves.

Alright! To answer your question! ABSOLUTELY NOT! I would be VERY upset with Steven if he agreed to be intereviewed again, after what happened the last time. I think that it could hurt his chances for parole, and it could also cause conflict between him and his biological father, at a time when they are trying to reconcile.

One mistake is understandable, but I would not be as understanding the second time around. Getting on national television and talking flippantly about murder and attempted murder, and your affiliation with a violent, white supremacist gang is NOT going to impress those sitting on the parole board, you know what I mean? The producers of this sensationalistic, Jerry Springereseque show, are NOT interested in presenting a fair and balanced picture, nor are they interested in telling the WHOLE story!

Shows like this perpetuate negative stereotypes, and do NOTHING to raise awareness about the plight of inmates and their families, or the complete and utter lack of emphasis on rehabilitation.

I feel that Steven was portrayed in a negative light, and was just furious that just a small fraction of the ENTIRE picture was presented. Forget the fact that he was beaten so severely as a child, that he was hospitalized several times. Forget the fact that he endured YEARS of unspeakable abuse at the hands of his so-called "victim". They made him look like a monster, and he is FAR from being a monster. If I didn't know the REAL Steven, I would have been frightened and intimidated by him, and most likely formed a negative opinion of him, based on the limited information that was made available to me as a viewer.

So in short, I expect him to decline to be interviewed again, and would let him know that I did not approve of his decision(in no uncertain terms!) if he decided to take part in this the second time around! If he is serious about being a free man one day, he needs to start making more thoughtful, responsible decisions. The decisions we make today, shape our future!

My sweetie told me about them coming back...not sure on the details. Mine wasn't interviewed, although I did see him several times in the background. I don't think I'd want him to be interviewed...for the same fears as Lisa has. Even though I know he'd do fine...he's very intelligent, well spoken. You just never know. They film so much...but use what they want. I know these shows are to be "informative"...but hey, it's TV...there's always that "entertainment" factor.

Yeah, I know for sure that he would NEVER, EVER consent to doing anything like that, but if there were a question in his mind, I would personally advise him against it. But, then again, if he had been on it before and had been viewed in a negative light, then it could POSSIBLY be an opportunity for him to be on his P's and Q's and really set the record straight. I don't know. If the producers could guarantee a fair and blanaced view of the guys, it would be one thing, but I think that is just TOO much wishful thinking. On a side note, I was there on Friday and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary as far as people filming or anything... I have to say that I am pleased about that! After I heard about that, I was worried about them trying to take advantage of the visitors like I have seen done before in previous shows.

I can tell you for a fact that a production company 44blueproductions, has been inside our facility now for around 2 months, and will continue to film over the next 3-4 months. They are going to do a 6-part series which will all be 1 hr in length. So I hope all of you get the oppurtunity to see your friends, husbands, brothers, sons, and whatever else. But I am a correction officer there and would like to keep my identity secret, however I will be happy to answer any questions.

While my baby and I were at visitation 05/11/2007, I noticed that there were a lot of people walking through the prison ( through the hall way next to the visiting yard) I asked Eugene who them people were and he told me that it's MSNBC doing part 2 of Holman?? I feel they need to get to the ones that have been there for years and ask questions, I real sure they would get the real stuff they are wanting.

I do have it recorded....only one problem, I've misplaced it! It was on t.v. again the other night. You may check online for program scheduling (for MSNBC)...if you're able to get that channel. I'll try to find mine & make a copy...or if I can catch it on again....I'll re-record it. I believe the 2nd taping is suppose to air this fall...so let's keep our eyes open. I'll be curious as to what all is portrayed this go around.
