View Full Version : Can you remember what your last meal together was?
dunebuggy 04-12-2007, 12:47 PM For those of you who were with your inmate before they were in, do you remember what your last meal with them was?
We ate at the Machine Shed in Des Moines on our way up to his SS. We both had steak and potato dinners!
JEREMYSBABYGIRL 04-12-2007, 12:52 PM Ha ha!! THe last meal we had together was pizza in the motel room.
Which reminds me of a joke I heard once about pizza and sex
What you don't like pizza??
dunebuggy 04-12-2007, 12:56 PM what about pizza and sex? :)
ctmom 04-12-2007, 03:13 PM Breakfast at Denny's before self surrender.
mnchknds 04-13-2007, 10:18 PM I remember everything about that day. It's funny because it's been a while since I thought about that day. I made him some mexican pasta and he ate 2 huge bowlfuls of it. I was at work when the US Marshalls came. They were nice enough and waited until his sister came to watch our son, he was only 1.5 at the time.
Our last meal together consisted of orange juice and coffee, we were too nervous to eat anything. Oddly enough we were on our way to his state VOP hearing. We dropped the kids off at school and made it around the corner to face a blockade, the marshals set up.
NutmegBonnie 04-29-2007, 06:21 PM No clue if we even ate breakfast before he went in.
At first when I read your question, I started to cry because I had no clue.
I can tell you now what we are having on his first full day home,
turkey, I get to pick him up the day before Thanksgiving.
Look forward, it is better for the heart.
That is at least how I am getting through this nonsense.
The future is the best for all of us on PTO.
Just my thought
treyswifey 04-30-2007, 06:15 PM ok sad moment because I cannot remember either. I know when the feds showed up, I had just finished dinner...needless to say, NOBODY ate that night :(
My man wants Chinese when he first gets out :)
MeMoe 05-01-2007, 06:22 PM LOL I remember. It's sad it wasn't even a homecooked meal!! McDonalds.
Zelda50 05-01-2007, 08:08 PM Strawberries.
jolee1107 05-01-2007, 08:42 PM It was days after Valentines and we were both stress, couldn't even tell you. I will have to ask him.
dunebuggy 05-02-2007, 10:39 PM LOL--Sorry for the depressing thread! I guess looking back for me is better right now than forward because back is so much closer than forward lol!!! Anyway--I like the idea of what we're gonna give him when he gets home. He says the cheese there is AWFUL!!! Much like paresean cheese...says he can't wait to have the real stuff!!! So we'll probabally be eating something with a LOT of cheese in it!! :D
Dan'sAlways 05-31-2007, 12:25 AM It was breakfast at a restaurant called Pullman's in Leavenworth, the morning he Surrendered. I had french toast and sausage. He had a ham and cheese omelette bigger than his head. Good thing too, because he got there about 9:30 a.m, and wasn't given anything to eat until the next morning... "the receiving process took too long"
After that morning, I don't distinctly remember eating again for a couple of days.. I tend to "forget to eat" when I'm stressed.
Dan'sAlways 05-31-2007, 12:30 AM I guess looking back for me is better right now than forward because back is so much closer than forward
Boy howdy! Like, still about fifteen to one on the side of forward? *nods*
Still, in the spirit of looking forward, I'd take odds that the first thing he'll want to eat when he gets out is a HUGE juicy steak, and a baked potato with enough butter on it to clog his arteries for a month!
shya3 05-31-2007, 12:41 AM We had Grilled salmon mixed vegtables and garden salad.
sandy1234 06-01-2007, 11:37 AM we ate at the western sizzler in leavenworth (i think that's what it is callled) that day just a few hours before SS. what's weird though is a couple of weeks ago when i went up to visit i drove past that restaurant and it had burned down!
VanillaKimmy 06-02-2007, 11:58 PM Even though it was over 16 years ago I remember us having a steak dinner because that was the last time he will ever eat meat again. My husband became a vegetarian 10 years ago
imissraul 06-03-2007, 12:44 PM :( well the day before he was arrested we went to the movies and ate hot dogs and popcorn...:( we didnt even know he was going to get caught and be arrested. I couldnt even eat cause i was having panic attacks:cry: and he doesnt eat in the mornings so i made him nothing he dropped me off at work and supposed to pick me up at 3pm and he was not outside like he always was..

dunebuggy 06-05-2007, 06:15 PM lol--you aren't counting the days are you? (haha j/k...I count days, and the time just started!!!) Congrats darlin!
The~Mad~Hatter 06-07-2007, 02:27 AM A cookout just for family and friends. Lots of shrimp, crawfish and crabs. Everyone laughing on the outside but sad on the inside because we knew what was coming the next day. :(
ACarter05 06-15-2007, 11:21 AM Yes I can remember... we had Saltgrass(that is a steakhouse in Texas)
We both had t-bone steaks!!!!!!!!!!!!
LamontLover 06-25-2007, 07:05 PM This is too easy... Fried chicken, cornbread (very sweet, like Lamont!) and macaroni/cheese... it's his favorite and after we ate... I jumped on the Greyhound to Miami, Florida... he was caught, tried, and sentenced to LWOP... :( I didn't find out until last darn year!
Vwife 09-07-2007, 11:55 PM I don't remember what but I do remember our last meal together was on 04/14/99 (Wednesday) at my parents house.
gapeachwifey 09-08-2007, 08:47 AM The night before his Self surrender when went to Red Lobster with his sister and her hubby. He had been in before and wanted to give my baby a pep talk before he left. I think I had shrimp alfredo and he had salmon.
The next day my MIL, my hubby and I drove to Montgomery and dropped him off :( he had Burger King for lunch
tami_lv 09-14-2007, 05:46 PM The day before self surrender me and my husband celebrated our sons birthday, which my sons b-day is april 4 and he had to SS on March 29th which we celebrated our sons b-day on March 28. So the day before ss we had a huge b-day party for our son. We rented a huge jumper had lots of food like hambugers, hotdogs, dips, chips, seafood trays, veggie trays and steak with all the trimmings. That was our last meal together. Still could remember that day clearly. STILL SOOO SAAAAD AND DEPRESSING. :(
perditionsghost 06-11-2008, 08:00 PM yes... he cooked stirfry. The next day we drove 300 miles for him to surrender. I ate that stirfry when I got home... I ate only that and lived on that for 3 days.
that just made me cry. He's the best cook I've ever known. Once, about 7 years ago, he had me pick out a chicken on his farm. That was the chicken we ate for dinner. Everything we ate came off his farm.
I miss him. By the time he's free, we've known each other 20 years. It seems so strange, cause we were just in High School yesterday.
DWsgirl 06-13-2008, 10:44 PM We had dinner together at Arby's the night before his ss. He ate the next afternoon at Arby's too. I was unable to eat. It was just an hour before his ss and I was too upset. He new that he was going to have missed lunch and needed to have something in his stomach. I will never forget our last night together and the memories of that night will take me through the next 4 years. I love you Dan and miss you so much.
Cyn-tastic 06-26-2008, 10:11 PM He ate leftovers. :haha: I had cooked two nights before: grilled scallops with a garlic cream sauce, pasta, and sauteed asparagus. Jerkface didn't come home that night, so I wrapped it up, vowed to never cook for him again , and he ended up eating it the next day. He wasn't home for dinner the following day because he'd already gotten in trouble.
PenguinFriend 07-04-2008, 08:27 PM My brother and I love seafood... I ordered a feast from lobster-gram... lobster tails, crab legs, crab cakes, shrimp and scallops. We were able to laugh and enjoy the day.
MelissaTx 07-05-2008, 12:30 AM D, our daughter, my B-I-l, and myself ate at Fudruckers (sp) He had a 1/2 lb burger and fries, I had a loaded baked potatoe. That next morning before court when the Marshalls took him he had a root beer and powdered donuts LOL
rivergrl 08-17-2008, 08:46 PM I'm pretty sure it was pizza the night before SS. I'm sure the first meal when he gets home will be a big fat steak!
MickeysGirl 08-19-2008, 07:43 PM I don't have a clue. It was a day like any other. He left the next morning for a convention (representing our parish, of all things). The feds picked him up there and it was almost a year before I touched his face again. I can tell you the last thing we ate together--at visitation! Philly steak sandwich out of the machine and Diet Pepsi! It's the only time he can get a Diet Pepsi!
pink05 08-22-2008, 07:47 PM Well, I'm not the last person he spent his last meal with but my LAST meal with him was the night when we got together with a few friends at Cheesecake Factory and Coldstone Creamery. It was a month before he went in... and which is so heartbreaking is that my friends and I had absolutely no clue about his offense or him having to go in to prison at all!
tropicalnla 08-27-2008, 12:13 AM I remember this and its funny to me.... We were not dating at the time but he was having a parking lot bbq and he doesn't eat red meat, or pork... and I don't eat chicken, sea food which is what he was bbq ing... Needless to say iwas starving he asked why I wasn't eating I told him and he walked around his neighborhood to folks houses asking for hotlinks :) When he came back he made them and gave all of them to me to go since that's all I ate that he was cooking... Darn those were good I gotta tell him about that so we can both laugh.... Thanks for this thread its funny because I started writing him to see how he was holding up 9 years after the fact because I thought about another party he gave.. You know just saying hi and hang in there and things just took off from there... I tell him all the time I wouldn't have saw this coming a million miles away :)
bvgir 09-03-2008, 04:57 PM We chowed down on Mexican food and a piture of Margeretas....
dunebuggy 09-10-2008, 05:06 PM For those of you who were with your inmate before they were in, do you remember what your last meal with them was?
We ate at the Machine Shed in Des Moines on our way up to his SS. We both had steak and potato dinners!
LOL what a great meal it was too :D
my ex posted this while I was gone
ramsey1978 09-11-2008, 05:24 PM God, I can't believe how many simple questions about him can still make me cry...LOL I remember it was at a sports bar called Malibu's and we both got food but he was teasing me that I had oysters. And then a bunch of beer.... We hung out plenty of times before he went in but that was our last meal together.
hisbigbabydoll2 09-15-2008, 06:05 PM We had chicken always chicken or fish...but ...it was tasty.....oh and pancakes in the morning...he can't wait to get home and have those again..
Zacsgirl 11-07-2008, 11:30 AM We had a delicious meal at TGI Fridays.:D We thought it was going to be our last little outing before our baby was born... Little did we know! We got home from our "date" and I went to work- then I got a phone call at work saying that the FBI was arresting him at the house!
I still have the receipt and our margarita glass that he insisted on buying while we were there! They are both nice momentos and I look at them everyday!:)
Zacsgirl
