Hi Kathy,

Since you had some specific questions for a Federal prison, I have moved this thread to the Federal forum on PTO so your post will have the opportunity to get more specific responses and the best answers to your questions...

You also might want to thumb thru the Federal forum to see if some of your questions have already been answered in the past... the direct link to the forum is here:

Hope you find the info you're looking for and good luck...

Lys

So Glad To Find This Site. Its Very Helpful To Know There Are People Out There That Still Care. I Made A Mistake About 3 Years Ago. I Received A Target Letter That I Was Under Investigation And I Was Appointed A Free Lawyer. I Went Before Her One Time And Told Her What I Had Done. I Have Not Heard Anything From Her Or The Federal Prosecutors. It Has Been 3 Years. I Don't Know What To Do. Rather To Call Or Just Hope They Have Forgot About Me. My Life Has Been On Hold For 3 Years I Never Know When They Are Going To Get Me. I Dont Want To Leave The House Because I Feel Everyone Is Judging Me. I Am So Scared. I Have A 11 Year Old Daughter And A Husband Who Has Stood By Me. And A Loving Family If It Wasn;t For That I Would Probably Lose It. If Someone Could Give Me Some Information On How Long It Took Them I Would Appreciate. I Would Really Like To Live My Life Normal Again.

terril, I know what you mean. i am waiting also. i live my life as normal as possible. true we cant really make plans for the future, but remember to take advantage the time you are out, make the best of it. I know this may sound crazy, but sometimes i play the song live like you were dying. I have taken vacations, and try everyday to really enjoy the freedom i have now. It sounds to me ike you are facing white collar crime, am i right? well, hope this post helps.

oh, you may want to post under general federal forum, as you will get more responses!!
feel free to pm me if youd like to chat!

Hi. In the federal system you usually serve 85% of your sentence. You can spend up to 6 months of that in a half-way house. I was in Alderson FPC on an 18 month sentence. I did 11 months in camp and 4 months in a half way house. I did 15 months of a 18 month sentence.
Alderson has lots of things to keep you busy. You can play bingo, take guitar lessons, beading classes, fitness classes and see movies. It really is like being in College. You will have no problem there. Just do right and you want have to go to Davis Hall. That is a lock down type building there for those that mess up.
You will find that the staff is ok and they dont hassell you unless you give them a reason. The secret is to keep busy and keep your mind occupied. I worked in the garment factory and I enjoyed it because it is air conditioned in the summer. See if you can work there and that will help you make a little extra money. (I think I made 85 cents an hour.)
Good luck and let me know if I can help. Also, visit the chapel and renew your spirit.
You are in my prayers...........mizzzzzzzzzzzzzzz charlotte
If you ever hear them talk about Miss Texas that is me. I wrote a song and won the tallent show there. the name of it is Three hots and a cot...thats what we got...we fly con air...you gotta be indicted to be invited. That song is still being sung there I heard. I was there in 1994(I think)
