I have been to a visit my fiance at Matsqui, It took a month or so to be approved and the institution never informed me they informed my husband that i was approved to visit him. I recieved a handbook that i just remembered i have it has a full introduction to vists at matsqui. I got it from a communtiy officer from the john howard society when i had his community assesment done at my home. at this time i filled out a private family visit form... ( you will go through the same process if he has intent to reside with you after jail and is you are his primary community support) anyways

gen population visits are
tues, weds, thurs, fri 5:30 - 8;45pm
sat 1:00 - 3:30
sun 8:30am - 10:50am & 1;00 - 3:30
holidays 1:00 - 3:30

each inmate is allowed 4 visits a week
you bring 2 peices of id
sign a visitors register
walk through a metal scanner, hand scanner check, ionscan and non intrusive search by detector dog ( i don't remember a dog when i went to visit)
your allowed to bring in 10$ in coins for items in the vending machines

dress appropriately ( i was almost asked to leave because they (the gaurds) felt my skirt was to distracting.

so you get led to this room and it reminds me of a kindergardern call room with the hard carpet and little round tables with chairs. there is also a small court yard with picnic benches.

in bold this hand book states no prolonged or frequent contact its considered a security concern

and if you would like to leave money for the inmate you must inform the visits officer when booking your visit on how much the deposit is for and when you come to the facility they will write a recipt for you..
