I do alot of craft projects that need fancy lettering. Back in high school (15 years ago!) I had a programm that was awesome. It allowed me to fine tooe every aspect of the lettering, letter width, height, spacing between letters, etc. And the art graphics on it were phenomonal! But those days are looooong gone!

Does anyone know of a good art software program? I also do alot of fliers for my boyfriends business. And now we might be getting married, and I want to do my own invitations (very unusual ones!). Up till now I've been using Microsoft Word, but this falls sadly short of what I need.

Of course, freeware or shareware would be great!

Thanks for any & all advice! :) :D

Can't tell you a single thing about Microsoft, but if you look into Apple, you'll find a bazillion art/graphics programs.
You might try a brick-and-mortar print shop for info - Linotype (and I think, Varitype) used to have a whale of a lot of type-warping ability.

But doesn't apple software not work on Windows?

(sorry-I'm not a computer junky, just good at artistic graphics stuff.)

I use Comic Life and am amazed all the stuff I can do with it (not just making comics). Not sure if it comes in a WindozZz version. You might try googling. I think it is free for 30 days and then pretty cheap to buy.

Depends on if you want to spend money or not. The industry standard for typesetting is Quark Xpress with Adobe Indesign coming in close second. Both of these programs aren't cheap but not stratospheric either. The programs also have a bit of a learning curve to them but there are many good books and tutorials on the internet and in bookstores. If you go here (http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/), you'll find free software that are basically underpowered versions of the full program. The DrawPlus and PagePlus programs should be able to cover what you need. I use Indesign myself, but that's because I am a Visual Communication Design student.
