I am in the process of having the Live Chat feature installed on PTO. I hesitated to do this right away because this often takes away from the searchable and static content of a discussion forum web community. What takes place in live chat sessions usually is not saved for others to view at a later time. We are also a new site so the traffic really is not there.
For the time being, we will enable the Live Chat feature upon request of groups/organizations which wish to use the PrisonTalk web community for a meeting place. The dates and times of the Live Chat sessions can be found on the website calender, and in related discussion forums.

With luck and a little bit of free time the Live Chat module should be available later this week.

After studying and testing a number of live chat "hack" program additions I think we are going to use JPilot chat. Jpilot is feature rich and accomodate a large number of people in live chat at any given time without dragging down the system. Other features that were important in the decision are: security, access control and a reasonable price. (Within my hobby budget! :) )

I will post a message once it is completely installed.
Chances are it will be listed at the bottom of the main forums page as Live Chat.. Members will be able to seemlessly log into the chat confrence just as you would a discussion forum. Full details will follow!
