Hi, My fiancee is in C.C.C.F. Sre ras been diagnosed with possible cancer. My qustion is how long can she be kept on intake? as of today she will beon intake 35 days. I think that maybe her medical condition will cause her to be on intake for a long time. Is there any info available about this. It's frustrating because she is not allowed visitors or use of the phone debit system until she is off of intake. Can they keep her on intake indefinitley? If we could visit it would make things alot easier. Being on intake also means being celled in 21 hours a day. how long can this go on? I can't get any answers. It's very frustrating and I feel so very alone.
One qustion I forgot to ask. When She was sentenced the Judge gave her credit for time served [ 3 weeks in county jail]. She has been at C.C.C.F. for 35 days. When I call the v.i.n.e. line it says her release date is Jan. 2008. Her correct release date should be somewhere in June 2008. What is up with this. It like she hasn't even served any time yet. Anyone have an answer about this?

There's not much way to tell how long someone will be on intake, I don't think. My daughter was at OWCC. Coffee Creek is new, so I'm not sure about intake there. What I do know is that we just can't know------but if she's been in for 35 days, my guess would be that she'll be moved out of there soon. Oregon seems to be pretty efficient as prisons go.

I haven't ever understood about the good time and time served calculations, but the VINE line isn't always accurate. Especially not this early in the game.

There is a lag time in computing the sentence. The good time will be deducted when they compute it at intake. If not, she should contact her defense attorney or write the county jail and make sure they sent the time served to the DOC. It varies how long they're in intake. 35 days is on the longer side of things but sometimes they're waiting for a bedspace in the area to which she's designated. You could try calling her Intake counselor or having her defense lawyer do that and put a bug in their ear. Zelda
pdxb--- I just read this posting today.
How is your lady doing? Did they ever rule out or treat her cancer?
What is the V.I.N.E. line?
HI,
Hope you are doing well. My girlfriend is doing ok now. They FINALLY took her to the hospital to perform a L.E.E.P. , 2 months after she was supposed to go. Everything seems to be ok now. Things just don't seem to be very well run there. She spent 42 days on intake while she sat there and watched most spend about two weeks. When she would send a "kyte" asking when she was going to be taken off intake status they eithier ignored her or told her to be patient. Finally one of the corrections Officers on the unit looked into it and they had sent all her paper work to the minimum facility 2 and a half weeks earlier. The people responsible for her proccessing screwed up, and of course an inmate or her family know nothing so they ignore you. Intake also made her send her glasses home, which was wrong. Now they want her to pay to get new glasses. They even tell her she should not have sent her old glasses home with her clothes. The Officer at intake sent her glasses home. It was her first day there, how is she suppose to tell an officer that she gets to keep her glasses. Lots of stuff like that. Just all around poorly run if you ask me. I would say that the visiting room now is very well run. They got a new Seargent a few weeks ago and she is very good. The previous seargent was not. As far as she was concerned I was to be treated the same as the inmates. Having been there about 70 times I think she resented our relationship. She treated me diffrently from other visitors and, I feel, let her personal feelings interfere with her proffesionalism. If you read about what has been going on there lately you will find that "proffesionalism" goes by the wayside alot there, and that is just the stuff that makes it to the media, I gurantee twice as many "incidents" are kept as quite as possible. Sorry bout the rant, I get carried away sometimes
PDXB,
I am glad to hear she finally got her medical treatment and is doing well. It is so nice that you have been able to visit as often as you do. Visits are good!!
It took months for my fellah to get his medical treatment and when we finally gave up and started requesting transferres to get him closer to family and me. That is when they started his treatment. It is a catch 22 now... he is at the furthest location away from me and his family, but he is finally getting treatment.
I am pretty sure I would have surrendered my glasses too!! I am a great big chicken, and if the officer were telling me they had to go home, I would have sent them. It bites that she has to buy a new pair, through the state. They are soooo "fashionable"!!! NOT!!
I tend to avoid news like it was on fire. I get too wrapped up in the misrepresentation and slanted way new is delivered. If you come across a story, go ahead and post it in a new thread. Just nothing about the Kendra James or the latest shooting. Even I have heard enough of those stories!!! LOL
Regarding the topic we discussed through the PM, I have not been able to find any information. I know I read about it once, but can't seem to find it again! I am not a complete airhead (keep your comments private!!), but never seem to be able to ask this stupid electronic box (computer) the correct quesiton to get the infromation I want!! I think the topic is something that people need to be aware of!
Never be sorry for ranting! I have done it myself. Just back your rant with action or a follow up!! And keep it within the guidlines, which you do!!
Thank you for the update!
