View Full Version : In Love With An Angel Behind Bars
Insatiable420 07-09-2002, 09:01 PM I was browsing prison pen pal sites, and came across this ad that caught my eye. I wrote to him for the first time 8 months ago, and we haven't skipped a beat since then. We share every thought, feeling, and emotion with one another. We talk about life, world issues, conflicts, and everyday stresses. We are eachothers "safety net." I feel as though he is THE ONE for me, regardless of whether or not we have ever met. I just have that feeling that it was meant to be. Everything happens for a reason, I believe there was a reason why I chose him out of the vast selection of inmates looking for friendship. I often wonder what it will be like after his release. We plan on being together when he gets out, and I often contemplate what the future with hold. Where we will live, what we will do for a living, kids, etc. etc. He is eligible for parole in November of 2003. In Texas they say the rate for prisoners to be released on parole is 28% depending on "good time". He has been able to keep it together while incarcerated. He has gotten is Associates Degree and will be transferring units to begin on his Bachelor's. I know he is a changed man. He is not a repeat offender, just made one big mistake and has been locked up since 96 for it. Anyways, I guess I just need some comfort and support and advice on how to cope with all of the stresses that come along with being involved with an inmate. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.....

cobwebqueen 08-06-2002, 08:29 PM Welcome! I met Craig through a prison penpals website. It was incredible, actually, I was leaving my local library and this tiny little book caught my eye. It was a book on "weird web sites" and in amongst all the listings for some very strange sites was this prison web site. I started to think how awful it would be to be locked up and no letters from friends etc. so I wrote to Craig. We have been writing every day ever since, I came over to Georgia from Australia to see him not ling ago, and like you, I know it's the right thing. And all this weird stuff happens to convince me, for example; Craig's from Alabama and whenever I hear "Sweet home Alabama" I think of him. And just lately, whenever I've been having doubts or missing him a lot, I turn the radio on or get in the car and the radio comes on and what song is on? You guessed it! All the time! It's getting really weird! It makes my kids laugh. I think like you said, sometimes you know it's right, and meanwhile, the universe or whatever is hitting you on the head, saying" Listen! This is meant to be! I know I'm raving (again!) but it really is uncanny. And one thing I've learned is to LISTEN when your destiny is talking to you. Anyway after all that, a very big welcome and all the luck in the world!
