Getting Married @ Jamestown is fairly easy... although I have nothing else to compare it to :)

Your boyfriend needs to ask for a marriage packet from his counselor or the marriage facilitator. He will fill out his part and mail you the rest to fill out your part and mail back.

You are allowed to have up to 10 APPROVED ADULT visitors @ the wedding. The dress code is the same as any regular visit. You are not allowed to bring in a camera but they do still have the ducats so you can have your pictures taken still.

How long does it usually take to process the marriage application?? Because my fiance just got transferred to Jamestown and we are going to be married there because Avenal took far to long to process our packet. Hopefully they will process it faster here.

I just got married at jamestown:D the next marraige date is september 13th, 2007. your fiance has to request a marraige packet from his counselor and fill it out then send it to you. I'ts all up to the two of you and how fast you get the paperwork back to his counselor and to the county clerks office. I recieved my packet from my fiance/now husband and returned it the same day along with the birth certificates and money order to the county clerks office. it took a total of three months for the whole process. so I suggest that you two get on it asap. and good luck to you both. isn't love grand:love:

That is also my question. Me and my man want to get married early next year or in December, as my divorce won't be finalized til Dec 3rd. How do they determine the date of Marriage and how soon should he ask for the paperwork? Can he get that paperwork while he is at camp?

They won't start passing out packets until after the next wedding date which is September 13th. I am currently trying to get married there as well and Robin Standars (the marriage coordinator for Jamestown) said that the inmate has to request a packet after September 13th and have it turned in at least 40 days prior to the next wedding date, which is December 13th. I am not sure if he can still get the paperwork at camp, I know you can still get married if they have your paperwork before he leaves to camp, they will just send him back to Jamestown a few days before the wedding and then send him back a few days after you get married. I had to send in around $100 and some change to the County within I believe 45 days of the marriage.

You will need to send in your marriage dissolution paperwork with your application so you may need to wait until you have that and then request the marriage packet. You will be eligible for the first quarter wedding though!

The camp my husband's @ allows for them too and I'll be on one starting tomorrow morning and ending Sunday morning. We've been getting them about every 5 weeks. Not bad!!! Better than nothing :D
