My boyfriend just got sent to Lancaster State Prison in Los Angeles County, how long will they keep him in Reception for while they are processing his papers? When can he contact me? How do I find out an approx release date for him?

hello my boyfriend is at lancaster and reception can last from a few weeks to a few months. he cant use the phone while in reception. only letters. he can request a release date and they should let him know. that is what my man did. and visiting is only for 1 hour and behind glass until he mainlines. have him send you a signed visiting form. hope this helps.

This is all new to me, anything helps. He just got moved from County in LA to Lancaster. He just sent me a letter and says he is doing ok and a visitors form (wow they are pretty strict)!! I guess they have to be though. What is it like to visit there?Did your boyfriend say Lancaster is ok? and do they move them to another prison again? my boyfriend I believe only has another 6months, we don't know anything definite yet. yeah he says lancaster is okay. but he will get transferred to chine in about a few weeks because he already saw his counselor. he will do his remaining time in chino which is 3 months left. so im happy for that. :) visiting at lancaster is pretty smooth. stay away from light browns, greens, and plain gray tops. the co's there are pretty cool. when you call on friday mornings to make your appt, be ready to be on hold for a while. about an hour or so. :o yes they will probably move your loved one to another prison once he is done with reception. any questions, feel free to ask. this site is very helpful. :thumbsup: :D

is there any way to find out his release date? my boyfriends been waiting but no one had answered him.

ask him to send a request. thats what my man did and they gave him his release date.

My husband was at Lancaster reception and they kept him in there for 3 months, while he is in there they will tell him his release date, other than that there is no other way you can find out, just tell him to keep you posted, Good Luck after reception everything will be miuch easier for you guys Stay Strong :)

the address goes by p.o boxes. which means they are different according to the yard that he is in. the booking number changes because he is now in state prison. you can call the 800 number for CDCr. or wait till he writes to you that way you can have the p.o. box number and his cdc number. he wont be able to call you while he is in reception. hang in there girl. :o

My husband has been in Lancaster Reception since Feb 11. And still has not seen his counsuler, I was denied visits becaue I have some fines to pay to the DMV. That really suck because I have not seen my baby in over 3 mths, thought reception was only supposed to be 90 days max? Whats up with that?

Hey anyone? I'm trying to visit my friend in reception at Lancaster. I called the number and entered my extension, and now it's just ringing. I'm wondering if I'm doing it right? Do I just let it keep ringing? HELP. I almost want to hang up and call back because i don't know the procedure.

dont hang up. ive waited 1-2 hours just to get someone on the phone. sometimes i got the visit other times it was full already. hang in there.

Thanks, I got through and I got a visit. It was different then anything I've done but for the most part it was nice. I actually got through and got my appointment by 8:20am. That must have been a miracle.

hay puppet, When did your man see his consuler, my husband got their feb 11th, and still has not seen his, I called yesterday and they switched his consuler now, she says she just got the file and it will proab. be a few weeks before she gets to him.

If your boyfriend has been in prison before the CDC # remains the same.
CDC is different from County booking #.

My fiance will be transfering to lancaster from chuckawalla. I was reading the previous posts and I am very CONFUSED!!! Do i have to make an appointment to visit him??? Can anyone HELP???
