:o I was wondering, I think that I read somewhere that al.inmates can receive 3 care packages per year, is this true? and can anyone tell me the dates,when they can be sent, like is there one coming up soon, for spring maybe? any ifno you could give would be appreciated, we have not yet sent one and are unsure about the how's and when's. The inmate can receive 4 per year. 2 are hygine packages and the other 2 are food packages. Yes, there is one coming up and that is the hygine package, it should be coming up within the next month.

Limestone will start recieving their packages in May, I believe, and the inmate can send you a list of what can be sent and how much can be sent, ect. just ask him to get one. That way, you will know exactly what is correct and will be within the guidelines ok.

I am so new to this that I am still trying to learn how to ask questions. It's great to find my questions already asked by someone else. Do they have to be at the prison a certain amount of time before they can recieve a package? My husband has been at Limestone for about a month.

When they annouce the packages they will announce the guidelines for the packages. I think they will be giving out the guidelines in April with packages to be received in May.

my fiance is in administrative seg. at st. clair. does anyone know if he would be allowed packages also, or is that just for population inmates? where do i find the info about the different packages and the times of year they can be sent?

I asked about the packages. He told me they had received the paperwork this past week. he said they can receive them starting May 20th. He'll be mailing me his list this week. When I find out more, I'll let you know.

i'm not sure about Saint clair, but at Holman the guys in Seg CAN get a package IF they have a clear record for so long ( 6 months to a year)

Be sure to ask your loved ones if there is a weight limit for the package and if the box your sending has to be a certain size (some facilities have weight limits / size limits and some do not) The weight limit is usually 20 lbs. Also the dates for the package are May 1 to May 31...some facilities started allowing packages to be sent on the first and others are letting packages be sent (postmarked) by the 20th...

No, there is no website for the care packages. Once he gets approved for the package he should be able to send you the list. When they do the food packages there is a wesite for those..
