Hi,
The best way to find out about your ex is to write to him at the facility. You can call the Mail Room at Parchman to get his MDOC number as well as housing information.

PTO is a wonderful support site but we do not have information on inmates if that is what you are looking for.
If you are looking for info on the unit itself, we do have a couple of members who are familiar with MSP and one might have some info on 28. I sent him a PM so he knows you needs assistance.
Best wishes

Wish I had some answers for ya hon!! My son was in unit 29 til he got transfered out to a private prison. Maybe if you'd list some specific questions someone can jump in and either answer or point you in the right direction for an answer! Wish I could be of more help!

I hon - Welcome to PTO.

What specific information are you looking for?

As for visitation it is on either a Saturday or Sunday - and you can visit him if you like depending if you are on his visitation list.

As for what is the unit like? They live in the zone - pods - and if I am not mistaken several guys are in one area together - this could have changed since I was in prison.

I was not at Unit 28 - but worked at the Hospital Unit 42 - and we went to that zone once.

I will be glad to answer any questions you may have just post and let me know.

If you are looking to see why he is in prison, or release dates etc. you can find that at the MDOC website.

Hi - I just went a read your other post on PTO - and may can answer some things for you.

You can never know if someone has changed etc. while they are in prison - except by talking to them.

If you are affraid of him to an extent - I would suggest getting a PO box that is in another city etc. and write to him using that PO box which cannot be traced back to your home.

Correspond with him a bit and try and learn as much as you can.

Also reading from your post - is he aware that he has a daughter?

You may want to let her write a letter to him - and monitor all communications - and later once he is released you can use your judgement to determine what needs to be done next.

I would also suggest researching information on HIV via the internet. I will see if I can find a few helpful sites for you. If you are worried about your daughter being safe etc. You cannot contract from hugging, kisses, etc. and she would be ok - however she would need to know about his medical status so she can understand and learn to cope with the situation.

Many positive people live long and healthy lives now due to medical breakthroughs, and are completly healthy if they take care of themselves etc.

If you need someone to talk to I am a Private Message away. Please feel free to ask any questions here - you will NOT be ridiculed, laughed at, etc. And we will all try and help you the best that we can.

You will learn how to deal with this, and you will be ok!
