I'm trying to plan a weekend get away for My daughter her friend and my Boy friend and I. It seems like no matter where I look all of the rooms are $330. or up for 2 nights. Is this the normal price. We want to be downtown so the girls can go by them selfs and not be to far from the room. I'm new to this trying to plan something like this. We (my daughter and I) have never done anything like this befor.
I have checked expedia and some other of the sites that I seen on TV but is there some site that I would not really know about out there. I hope that this make sense..
Thanks
Amy

Try sidestep.com. I've found that they're the best travel site on the web. I've never stayed in Chicago, but if it's anything like New York, you're going to be paying a premium price if you want something in a good location.

Hello, I left you a message on your other post. Yes most are pretty expensive. I mentioned the Ohio house, I havent been there in a while. It waslike a motel kinda dumpy but cheaper than the Hotels. I remember Marriott wasnt too bad. If you ask them for weekday rates or specials they might help out that way.

OH, Ohio House is right by Ed Debeviks. I dont know if u heard of that but its a 50's style diner but butgers and stuff like that. The waiters and waitresses dance on the counters to specific songs and they "act" kinda cooky and rude when they take you order etc..(part of the fun). Its an energetic, loud atmosphere. Packed on weekend nights. They girls would love it.

The Navy Pier Holiday Inn wasn't bad pricewise etc.. It's only a couple blocks from Navy Pier and a couple blocks the other way from Michigan Avenue.. It's a lot cheaper.. There's a lot nicer ones on Michigan Avenue etc. I've stayed in but the cost is a lot more...

Thanks for all the replys. I keep looking around but on the sites The Congress seems to be one the cheaper ones. I know that they dont get alot of postive replys about there place but as long as there is not bugs and it is not NASTY it is ok cause we are only sleeping/showering there.

At all rest stops and welcome centers you will find those Hotel coupon books, check them out they have several GREAT prices in them for various hotels. I use them ALL the time.

also priceline, travelocity, expedia and hotwire have nice websites for hotels to check pricing as well.

Terri when I looked on those site they want us to pay for the room up front.. and that make me wonder about things like that. I went on the site for the hotel and it is pretty much the same price as the other sites. so far we are going with the congress hotel..

Amylynn,
I can personally say I have used them all before and I was learly at first as well but I tired them and wasn't disappointed at all. you can also try travelcoupons.com and see if they have any for that area and also try a search on google for travel coupons and see the other ones that come up as well, like the ones you see at welcome centers and rest stops it's the same company I have used them several times as well. GOOD LUCK
