Just a premature thought,
If an inmate is released from Pelican Bay, will he be transported to a prison nearer to his home address a couple of weeks before
Or
..
Will they just boot him out in Crescent City to find his own way home?
Goodmorning, I think they will just give him the boot so to speak. I am not sure I will ask Richard when I write today. I am pretty sure when he was released from the Bay back in 91 that they put him on a bus and sent him home to me :) Love Barbara

what most prisons normally do is put you on a bus to or close to your home or you can have someone pick you up but you have to be there at a certain time and check in and show d.l. reg on car and insurence. thats it.

Hello, I'm new to this site. To answer your question, inmates are ususally given "gate" money about $200, depending. There is limited bus services out of there; they are escorted to the bus station by a deputy, monitored while they buy a bus ticket and then they get on the bus from Crescent City. There is a McDonalds, but they are not permitted to go in there to get any food...
Hope this helps.
