I am sooo broken and lost today. My boyfriend and best friend just got sent to Parchman yesterday. How long does it take to get visits approved? When will he be able to call? He is in Unit 29C....he is a first time offender and was just sentenced to 6 yrs. for 2 grams of coke. RIDICULOUS!!! Starkville, MS...guess that says it all! It is all very surreal right now and I am worried SICK about him. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!:mad:

Hi, I am sorry you are going through this. It will get better, one day at a time.
He needs to send you the form to apply for visits, or you can call the visitation dept to request one. Lt. Stevens is pretty nice.
I think he can call right away if memory serves me correct. It's been a few years since mine was up there. Jonathan might know for sure.

I'm here as well as many others who do know how you feel. I recall the feelings of the early days vividly. It hurts; the tears will start falling out of the blue. If you have a faith, go to church, put your worries in the hands of your higher power; it will help. Keep busy, write to him (be careful of the phone calls..they can be addicting and very expensive...set a budget and stick to it. You will be amazed how much you learn about each other by writing. Enjoy things for him. Share stories and pictures etc.

It will take 2-3 weeks once they get to the facility to get on the phone list. You should be able to visit within a month of them arriving.
