I have been battling with jewelry vendors and the ADC about this topic. Do you know how difficult it is to find a gold cross for under $50?

Well, I found one. I called to order the cross and asked them to include a packing slip that shows the price of the item. The Chaplain at the unit told me to have the vendor send the cross to the Chaplaincy with an invoice enclosed. Ok, that made sense to me, he wants to be sure that nothing over a $50 value comes into the prison.

Guess what? I can't find a jewelry store or online jewelry vendor that will ship an item with a price on the packing slip or an invoice inside the package! One of the vendors that sells LOTS of religious jewelry would not even consider sending ANYTHING to a prison. (I told them that I certainly understand...prisons don't need crosses or Bilbles...we wouldn't want our inmates to see signs of love...then I said goodbye.)

Has anyone else successfully sent a religious medal or pendant to your loved one? If so, would you please PM me and tell me who will ship the way I need it shipped?

Try your local bible gift shop explain the circumstances and see what they can do for you.I am not sure how big a selection they have but they might have a book you can look at and order from.Family Christian Book Store has sent alot of religious material for me to my guy....I bet they would do a cross necklace.They even let me put a little note in his Christmas book package..."Two steps forward,Three steps back"...By Charles Swindoll.....oh by the way Thanks for suggesting that book for him Cessna...Kitty
