What is the day to day like? What is the normal routine? How long did it take for you to get your mail? What time of day do they let you make phone calls? Anything and everything you can share

He called yesterday!:D We didn't get to talk long but he seemed ok. He said its not terrible but it still sucks. He got my letter and had mailed me one on the 6th and I just got it yesterday. Not sure what is up with that?
His letter was short and he said there is bars and fences and a small jail cell called "the hole" when your bad. There is everything from drug dealers, fraud to murderers there. He says they sure do have different outlooks on life than we do. He was to have a meeting the day after he wrote this on whether or not he would get into RDAP soon. So hopefully his next letter will tell me what happened. Cause if he doesn't get in soon he will be there forever! There are so many things back home that will get messed up if he is not back asap.
He said he had to buy everything from socks to toothbrushes. They took him off his antidepressants the first week he was there  Why I don't know he has been on them for years. They put him on something different but he said it seems to be working. He said to write as much as I could and to send pictures.
It was so nice to hear from him. I will post each time he writes to keep us all with family at Waseca in the loop.

Hi, my son has been in Waseca since September. No bars anywhere, it use to be a horticulture college. The rooms are all like open dorms, open all the time. They can stay up all night and watch TV or play games. Their jobs last around 4-6hrs a day, nothing very hard and they can goof off and go to rec and stuff when they are suppose to be working. Not very strict. The food is excellent, too excellent I was hoping my son would lose some weight.
My son too was on antidepressants, we were told to bring an empty bottle of whatever he took and they would fill the perscription, which they did.
I thank God everyday my son ended up there. He suffers from social anxiety disorder so being in mass population was about as bad as it could get. He spent the first week in the hole just because he fell apart, but since then he has settled in, made friends and has his routine down pat. Now I'd say he's probably too happy! (wry grin).

How long in your son in for? My friend said it's not horrible but it still sucks. Last time I talked to him he sounded better. Sadly I think he will end up being there longer than he expected. But I am glad he is keeping God in his heart because as much as he hates it has said he knows God's will will be done and he hopes God can help him accept whatever may come.
