View Full Version : Anyone have a loved one at Staton? rkered 03-12-2007, 03:19 PM My son has a 23 year sentence. Does anyone else have a loved one at Staton? thompson1mt 04-08-2007, 09:15 PM my husband just got shipped to staton i week ago, i go visit him this Saturday, i can't wait to see him, any info about staton would be great. IndyCindy 04-12-2007, 05:05 PM Hi, My ex hisband is there also. We just got back in touch, I looked and found him online actually. Prayed he'd stayed out of trouble since our divorce but no luck. I started writing him and am back in contact with my ex in law's and am planning a visit to see all them this summer. I still am looking for more info on this place myself. rkered 04-13-2007, 01:28 PM I visited Easter Sunday. They are strict about clothing, checked under my bra and to see if I had a slip (I am old). You could take your driver's licence and $30 in sliver in to spend. a picture was $4. Everyone was friendly and nice. It is suposed to be one of the better facilitys IndyCindy 04-13-2007, 01:40 PM Holy moly. I can't beleive they went that far with the slip. That is crazy. Atleast you got to see him tho. How long is each visit? Mike hasn't seen his mom in over a year and she lives in Mobile, so when I come down there she will be going with me to visit him. I do good finding my way to Mobile, let alone another area lol.He said it was a good place, compared to the others. rkered 04-13-2007, 01:56 PM The visits which are based on last names, on on EITHER Saturday or Sunday and last from EITHER 7-11 or 11-2:30 on alternate weekends. Get there about 45 minutes early and get a number from the guard at the main gate. You could try for a special visit, which could be longer, but he has to have been there for 6 months first. IndyCindy 04-20-2007, 12:01 AM Thanks for the info. He's been there for 4 yr's, he gets out in October of this year. I didn't know he was in till I went checking online to see. He said something last night about a special visit, so he's checking on that. rgarrett 02-20-2008, 11:38 PM My husband is currently at staton. rkered 02-23-2008, 01:16 PM I hope to be going again around my Easter Break. I don't know which weekends he will have visitation near Easter yet. bamagirl606 02-24-2008, 02:12 PM My husband is currently at staton. My Son Is There Also. ladyelise 02-24-2008, 09:26 PM T, was shipped to JB Evans (Louisana) after over a year at Staton. They are strict about the dress code. No capris, shorts, sweats, open toed shoes or white clothing. I noticed even the little kids couldn't have on shorts. The sign there says no weaves or hair pieces, don't panic I didn't see anyone having to take their's out, it would've been a riot for sure. I went once in capris and had no problem, the next time a lady had on the same kind and she couldn't get in. You can were jewelry but the money has to be coins only, no bills, even though there's a change machine inside the prison, but they don't like you to use it. The little town closest to the prison has limited stores open that will give you the $30 in change (use a ziplock bag to carry it-$30 is alot of change). There use to be a local car wash there, right over the bridge but I think it has gone out of business. You will pass through this town called Pratteville, top there they have a Wal-Mart and K-Mart that will help you out with change. Take a pair of jeans and a shirt just in case. Some OFF will come in handy as well, if you go outside to the picnic area, the mosquitoes there look like birds! Get pedicures ladies because you will have to take off your shoes, lol. Get there early and get a number then take a nap in your car or watch a movie. If you are military, you won't have a problem in uniform (just get held up by stories from the co's). JMATG 03-02-2008, 08:41 PM OMG Ladyelise are you serious about the weave, that's crazy. I will go visit my guy this month on the 16th and this is my very first time ever, ever going to a prison. I hate not knowing what to do or where to go:confused:  . My guy said that the female CO's there be hateing and I'm already struggling about what to wear. I'm a black wowan with a small waist but a big butt and whatever I wear my shape shows....So I don't know what to do about that one......... rkered 03-08-2008, 10:15 AM just be modest and very polite. I am 59 so maybe my age helps, but they are polite back, just strict |
